What have you been watching on (proper scripted) telly?

Watched the Bruce Lee episode of Too Young To Die tonight. It was nothing exciting, like that autopsy programme that re-evaluates what celebrities died of, this was a straight biopic.Absolute shit, and full of massive, massive errors. Clips being labelled as being from different films, clips of imitators from movies made after he died being shown as if it actually was him, dates, places, family history, etc. They got his motto wrong. It's two fucking words, and it's all over the stuff that his estate has released in the last few years, so it's not like it's unknown. It's "Walk On", not "Go on". That's Mrs Doyle's catchphrase. The most stupid was the claim that the pallbearers at his funeral included James Coburn, Steve McQueen and Chuck Norris (which are correct), but also Jackie Chan (nope. Jackie was still Jacky at this point and just a stuntman) and Jean Claude Van Damme (who would have been 12 years old, still living in Belgium and wouldn't have his first fight for another 3 years). Either someone's pranked the researchers, or they've looked at the footage and mistaken George Lazenby for JCVD.Unsurprisingly, none of his family appeared in this.

Watched this last night when we got home from the wedding. I was screaming blue murder at the telly. Was hoping for a factually accurate doc, but got this mis-informed shite. Should have just stuck a camera in front of Danny Inosanto and let him just talk.

Only real highlight was how fucking hot Danny Inosantos daughter is.

Cheers for posting that, I watched that and enjoyed it not really knowing any better so it's cool to be informed. I didn't catch them saying JCVD was at his funeral though, I definitely wouldn't have bought that.

One of the talking heads was a guy called Benny Urquidez and he was one of the funniest looking guys I've ever seen, it was worth watching just for that.

Anyone watched The OA yet? Absolutely mental series that was. It's on Netflix for anyone who wants to check it out.

I watched the first one last night. It's quite audacious to roll the opening credits an hour in! Gives it the feel that they intend the entire thing to be watched in one go. The show itself was quite odd. I expected something blockbustery but actually it was calm and subtle which gave it an eerie feel. And just when I was getting to grips with it,

"when I was a girl in Russia..."

Looking forward to the rest of it.

For those interested one of the chosen subjects on Celeb Mastermind tonight is WWE. I know some of us wrestling fans like to play along with that kind of stuff.

Excellent, let's all get on there and see how we do. I know Mastermind is high expertise on subjects, but I wonder difficult the questions will be for us? They should get Lister to come up with the questions.

John Humphrys quizzes another four famous faces on their specialist subjects. Those braving the black chair are comedian Mitch Benn, news presenter Reeta Chakrabarti, CBBC's Mark Rhodes and triathlon gold medallist Alistair Brownlee, showing what they know about Peter Cook, the life and poetry of John Keats, the World Wrestling Federation and the Yorkshire Dales.

So which one do we reckon is the wrestling fan? My money's on Reeta Chakrabarti.
