They asked for a clip and someone decided to send them Jimmy Jams job interview tape. And that no one said anything after hearing it. Oh it was probably just the entire taping reel or something and they just went through it possibly. They'd have recorded a load of promo's on the tapings maybe Quote

In the same way now that non fans almost always use the term "WWE Smackdown" to describe all WWE programming. Quote
Paid Members DCW Posted 8 hours ago Paid Members Posted 8 hours ago I can recall Colt Cabana having a single semi squash match against The Brian Kendrick on Smackdown, where they inserted a crap vignette of him in the little entrance video box acting like a mime during his entrance, and then never seeing him again. When Punk won the title after the 'pipebomb' promo there were whispers of him coming back to WWE as a commentator, but it never made telly if he did. Quote

He had a few other matches, including one against Umaga and another against Khali where he did...this beforehand: Harley Cameron, eat your heart out. Quote

He came back with Viscera for a handicap match with the Undertaker and got resigned, didn't have any more matches on TV, got promised some kind of thing in ECW which never happened and got released. I’m pretty sure it was to do with a lawsuit. The owners of Vampire the Masquerade (White Wolf?) owned the name Gangrel and WWE licensed it. It expired around the time Gangrel was fired the first time. So when he went back and was again called Gangrel, they sued the WWE for IP infringement. I could be off but sure that was the case. Quote

Browser Brady Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Two spring to mind : Waylon Mercy. In by June 95, gone by Oct. Unusual they gave up on him so quickly considering how well the vignettes were received. Still can’t believe they never made him a manager. The Samoan Gangster Party. My dates are are a little iffy , in my mind they started in late summer 95 and were gone by Feb 96 ?? Stalked Fatu by standing in the aisle when he wrestled and never actually spoke, wrestled or even properly confronted Fatu…..so it was all a bit pointless really. Anybody know what the actual plan here was ? Quote
Paid Members Callum1993 Posted 6 hours ago Paid Members Posted 6 hours ago Brendan Vink and Shane Thorne. Appeared on TV just after CovidMania in 2020. Paired with MVP. Lasted maybe a month then taken off TV. Vink went onto be Shane Hudson in NXT as part of Chase U to limited success. Thorne ended up part of another short lived group renamed the even shitter name of Slapjack in Retribution another Covid Raw creation. Other members of the group included T-Bar(Dominik Dijakovic), Mace( Mason Madden), Retaliation(Mercedes Martinez), Reckoning(Mia Yim) with Mustafa Ali as leader. Debuted as the new big group on Raw but most of them ended up released not long after with very little success. Quote
Infinity Land Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Had a quick look back and don't see this mentioned. Apologies if I've missed something but the thread has expanded quite quickly. News broke of Awesome Kong/Kharma signing with WWE at the end of 2010. After getting the post-WM 2011 vignette treatment to hype her debut. Eventually attacking some Divas. It would become a wrestling What If... moment as it never went beyond that as she discovered she was pregnant. There would a single in-ring appearance in the 2012 Royal Rumble. Note this is before there are two gendered versions. At this point I think only Chyna had competed in the Rumble. She was released in the summer of 2012. Quote

Dan was far too big to be a manager in those days too, a bunch of wrestlers were smaller than him. Quote
westlondonmist Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Mr Perfect, turned up at the Rumble, got to the final 3. Then has house show matches with RVD and Lesnar, then within weeks he's then doing tag matches on house shows and Sunday night heat jobbing. Then he got on a plane and he was gone. Then had a few months in TNA and died about a month after his final match (against David Flair). Quote
Vegeta Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Sorry if already said A little longer than some others in here, but Damien Demento, main events the first raw and in the 1993 rumble and I don't remember him doing much other than that there. Quote
Chico Torres Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Or Mr Perfect in 1994, came back at Wrestlemania to ref the Luger/Yoko match, rightly disqualified Lex for putting his hands on him and then…disappeared (I think?) I just recall it never being mentioned again and then Lex got stuck in the did he or didn’t he sell out to Million dollar man story. Edited 5 hours ago by Chico Torres Quote
