From debut to departure - the fastest wrestling binnings

Headhunters reminded me of the Head Bangers being brought back at some point. I thought it might have been during the WWECW era, but no even more recent than that.

Came back in 2016 and had 3 matches over a few months.

Then in terms of embarassing exits. Antonio Inoki comes out to end a match between Sylvester Terkay (brief WWE stint with Elijah Burke) and Doc Gallows. This would be Terkay's last match in the IGF having wrestled there for a few years. Gallows would have his third and final match for the company soon after to end his short stint there.

Inoki shouting "bullshit" and stomping around whilst St Anger plays will never not be hilarious to me.

On topic, has Gangrel been mentioned yet? He came back with Viscera for a handicap match with the Undertaker and got resigned, didn't have any more matches on TV, got promised some kind of thing in ECW which never happened and got released. Pretty sure Henry Godwin was signed around this time too and then released without many (any?) matches, certainly none on the main roster at least.

The Headbangers, New Age Outlaws, Hardys and Dudleys all have runs in the mid and late 2010s is one of those things I'll occassionally see mentioned and realise I've completely forgotten. Mad how they'll bring anyone back.

The Outlaws were the tag champs FIFTEEN years after they were last good or relevant.

I won a decent amount of money betting on them to win the Tag Titles, so no complaints from me.

I really thought Big Bully Busick was here to mention Big Bully Busick. He wasn't as short-lived as most mentioned but debuted on TV in August 1991 and was gone by Survivor Series. I think I always think he lived longer as a character because he was on one of the trading card sets. His run really was short, for that era, and unremarkable. He had an even-stevens feud with the fucking Brooklyn Brawler. Who thought that was a good idea for a new character?

This post immediately reminded me of Battle Kat, who I think made a few TV appearances in 1990.

For such a short-lived character, there were actually two Battle Kat's. Former Swansea manager Bob Bradley donned the mask after Brady Boone left.

Does anyone remember Abyss's "brother" Judas Mesias?

Came in to a load of hype, got injured for a few months, faced Abyss on two (I think?) PPV's and then was released again shortly after.

Ah yeah, when they tried to do the whole Undertaker/Kane thing with Abyss! And then Judas Mesias would go on to become the brilliant Mil Muertes, so it seems they might have actually been on to something with the wrestler, though perhaps not the character.

The Outlaws probably had to work harder and do way longer matches on their return than they had back in their "prime" years too. I actually didn't mind their little run against Cody and Goldust to be fair, stylistically they matched up pretty well.

Also "Jesus" Carlito's bodyguard.

Signed November 2004, had one match with John Cena in December 2004, got injured, then released in April 2004.

I mean he did stab Cena, so fair enough.

You'd think being the first wrestler on a new show would lead to more.

The Zombie | The Worst of ECW

The promo he cut was genius too.

Oh, I didn't know.

What about Rob Bartlett who was one of the original announcers on Raw? He got canned pretty sharpish didn't he?

He's a good sport about it these days, and had a good back and forth with the OSW lads when they reviewed that era.

Reminds me of the one line that sticks in my mind from this place 22yrs ago! Can't remember who posted it, but the quote was

"Who the fuck is Jesus?" Which we know it was 'Heyzeus' rather than 'Gsus' but in the written form it cracked me up
