Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted 22 hours ago Awards Moderator Posted 22 hours ago I feel like smartphones are probably smart enough now to have some way of sensing when the user is on public transport, and disabling speaker mode or turning all music apps to mute until they’re no longer on public transport. It can feel like the shop has been opened just for you. Thanks, I will give it a go To be honest, I generally try and get to the Supermarkets before 9am as it is usually pretty quiet then. If I go any later I end up getting overwhelmed with the amount of people in there… Already dreading shopping nearer Christmas Quote

You don't always need to try everything on to see if it works. Or likewise if you're with someone and put something on in the fitting room then want to show them you can both look in a shop floor mirror at it together rather than the other person having to come into the fitting room. And why do under 18s be banned from shops after a certain time? Children and teenagers are humans too and being part of this world means engaging with them. They shouldn't be forced out of public spaces and made to stay indoors just because they violate some weird abstract rules of etiquette you've made up in your own head. Some of you lot, Jesus Christ. Not saying they should stay in doors, just not using shops as their personal playgrounds, switching off escalators and robbing or launching stuff about the place Also on the mirror thing it gets tiresome after the forth or fifth time having to clear the areas cos customers can’t be arsed putting stuff back, one of our store managers actually ordered the removal of one off the floor because of the state the area was left in when she done a walk around sometime last week Quote

They're prohibitively expensive, presumably to avoid them disappearing after some Boris/Burnham bikes ended up getting taken to the South of France on jollies in a single day, or just having the trackers removed and abandoned. They need to pick a lane. Quote

Absolutely - make things equitable and accessible for everyone, so nobody is disadvantaged by just not knowing all the unwritten rules of what a CV "should" look like, or not having access to the means to write a good one. I'd add to this in terms of making job hunting fairer and easier, that employers should not be allowed to advertise a job without a clear and accurate salary expectation, without stating whether they are prioritising internal candidates, and if they're advertising it as "hybrid" they need to quantify exactly what they mean by that (I've applied for too many jobs advertised as "hybrid" only to get to interview and be told that actually they'd expect you in the office all the time). Agree 100%. We don't even need the parent and child bays to be by the door, we just need the room. I see people use them at my gym (they are right by the entrance) who don't have kids and it fills me with an insane amount of rage when I'm trying to get my toddler, 5 year old and all their swimming shit out of the car with 30 cm either side of the car door in my tiny regular space because all the parent and child spaces are taken by lazy fuckers who love their cars too.much. Paid Members Gus Mears Posted 2 hours ago Paid Members Posted 2 hours ago Ban estate agencies from using AI in listings. Already among the biggest bunch of dickheads in Britain, it's now fine for them to share pictures of properties that have no resemblance whatsoever to reality above and beyond clever photography. Finding a rental recently was even more of a nightmare than usual due to this. The only positive was that - true to form - most of them are massively incompetent at using it, so you could quickly avoid properties that had floating tables and doors where the ceiling lights should be.
