but Lawler wasn't too far behind.

Said the police statements of many a teenage girl in Memphis, just trying to make it to the school bus.

Think it’s clear that Heenan is the king of this thread. A wit like no other in the history (and probably the future) of wrestling.

There are many famous Heenan one liners but (as I often do) I could be watching any random episode of WWF Challenge from 1988 or WCW Worldwide from 1995 where nothing really happens but Heenan will still have dozens of great one liners.

I agree he was far too good for something as worthless as wrestling but we were lucky to have him.

More Heenan (obvs)

Rumble 92. Ric Flair gives Undertaker a blatant low-blow.

Heenan "Flair just tried to lift The Undertaker"

“I heard your parents ran away from home” to Piper at SummerSlam 91 may be the cream of a bountiful crop. He had a great night.

“The Barbarian doesn’t like anybody. When I managed him he barely liked me! Why do you think they call him The Barbarian? He’s not a hairdresser on his day off you know.”

Think that was during the 92 Rumble as well, wasn’t it?

Piper's one of my favourites of all time, and he had some amazing zingers, but when even he went up against Heenan, he lost. Got some good hits in, but Heenan just squashed him.

Heenan is outstandingly brutal during the Bushwhackers/Beverley Bros at Rumble '92. Wrestlemania VII through to VIII is just magnificent for great moments of commentary.

Monsoon "I think Jamison needs one of those Bushwhacker outfits Brain"

Heenan: "You know what I think? He needs to put to sleep."

Anyway, a great YouTube channel has uploaded just all the Prime Time talky talking bits from Heenan & Monsoon in big month long blocks, if you want to see Gorilla Monsoon constantly cracking up at the Brain. Here's a playlist with a full six months worth of them two just dicking about. It's worth it for Heenan doing all this funny world building around his cheap flim-flam character, like his never seen personal assistant Miss Betty.

Just before Summerslam '92 from Heenan:

"Hey, did you hear who won the Most Beautiful Woman in Britain contest this year? Nobody."

A favourite of mine from Prime Time, as Monsoon tells Heenan he's been telling Jimmy Hart about some of Bobby's shady tactics behind his back, and a distraught Hennan, flustered at Gorilla sabotaging him, picks up the telephone and holds it towards Monsoon and says, "Here, why not just call up Fuji and tell him I called him a miserable Jap?"

Monsoon fucking loses it.

Even just reading this made me laugh out loud at the table and now my kids think I’m weird. What an excellent man.
