Women’s match was ok, nothing special, but I like Liv winning. I’m a big Raquel Rodriguez fan though. She’s really grown into the heel role.

Enjoyed AJ & Gunther and I actually found myself buying into the fact that maybe this wasn’t the match where AJ would call it quits.

Drew was great and did the job he had to in his match with Sami. Bob Holly is currently (if he hasn’t already) preparing another anti-Sami tweet.

Having Bron come in 2nd instead of 1st was the obvious way to cover up the production fuck up cos they clearly needed him to still be in at the start for the attack and quick elimination.

I used to like the Jey Uso entrance thing but after him doing the whole ‘run it back’ in War Games - you know, that ‘fight to the death’ match - and now in this too, as well as going to the second rope to pose for it, it makes him look like a tit. And a ref had to tell him to hurry up and get in the ring because Roman’s entrance countdown was due to start.

LA Knight is over like a fucker and they still don’t pull the trigger on him. Baffling.

No Finn?

Could’ve lived without Mr Iguana and La Parka involvements.

If Gunther is doing double duty you have him win it surely?

Lesnar being cheered at an event in Saudi is the ultimate example of this show being one of those where you leave your morals at the door by watching it.

Roman winning? Ugh. He’s literally just done a media appearance where he said no new stars are stepping up/being created.

And as far as every Rumble match nowadays…the convoluted spots where wrestlers feed themselves one after another is tiresome and nonsensical.

Give me the days of wrestlers having the odd showdown followed by lots of simple, against the ropes, physical attempts to get someone out rather than the overly-repeated Shawn Michaels/Kofi Kingston close-call eliminations. It loses its impact after a while.

Right…I’m off to rewatch the 1990, 1991 & 1992 shows to cleanse my Royal Rumble soul.

Oh and I forgot to add…was it just me who noticed/thought that when they did the camera close up of Maxxine Dupri (who’s really not very good btw) she did the whole ‘oh my god, look who’s coming out now’ BEFORE the countdown had finished or certainly at least before Nattie’s music had even hit?

Can’t speak to the entire thing because I only drifted through the highlights and men’s Rumble but I did especially like Hobbs flashing up on the screen only for the “Hey I know him, it’s Hossy  DeAthletico” new name intro.

I love the Rumble, but man was it a chore to get through.

A lot of the women looked decent, but my wife remarked how the full-body catsuits were as sexualising if not more with some of them compared to their usual attire. Zelina Vega coming out to zero reaction is the same as it ever has been, and it was very funny (to me) that Brie Bella got the biggest pop of the women's rumble. Anyone who claims the crowd were great after they spent a lot of the women's match singing Thank You Cena and generally dicking around can jog on. Sol Ruca and the Sol Snatcher are exceptional, and Raquel's elimination of Rhea was brutal as fuck.

I think they should've had Gunther get himself DQed because AJ wouldn't quit, but at least it was a decent match.

Sami Zayn taking three Future Shock DDTs and kicking out just after 2 was pretty poo - I am glad that Drew won but they're both really boring at the minute.

The men's rumble was a weird clusterfuck and mix - Oba Femi should've gone bell to bell because after the first few eliminations, he was just there rather than being amazing. I love stupid shit like Mr Iguana, but I don't understand why Ray Fenix had to have the chump spot when they had both Mr Iguana and LA Parka in instead. I also enjoyed the Brian Conley reference so popped for that.

Reigns winning was probably the best of the final four, although Gunther choking him out and tossing him to the ground would've made a good finish.

He lasted 3 times longer than Rusev did. If anyone had the chump spot it was him. A complete fucking loser

Lesnar suplexing Logan Paul should have been a big deal considering he’s loosely aligned with The Vision, no reaction at all from commentary

Yeah, that whole deal was kinda odd & muddled, particularly as the WWE I used to watch would hammer you over the head with even the least subtle plot point to make sure you'd got it.

From what I could gather, they seemed to be suggesting that Heyman had all his eggs in the basket of Breakker winning, hence how pissed off he was about him being a very early entrant, then devastated when the latest Black Hoodie Man (by this point, you'd think WWE would have banned the wearing of black hoodies to their events) screwed him over right at the start.

Commentary then did kinda refer to Heyman needing to pivot - which he could, as he still had 3 remaining charges to enter, including a guy they present as a pretty big deal. So actually, he's in quite a good place.

But then - out he comes having clearly hitched his wagon back to his faithful old meal ticket in Lesnar. Commentary does express surprise at this, but I don't recall any speculation as to whether this meant Heyman had chosen Brock over The Vision, or was Brock now a part of the larger stable.

Brock ends up in the ring with members of The Vision, but the only real interaction is Brock suplexing Logan - which goes entirely without acknowledgement on commentary. Shortly thereafter, Brock is unceremoniously dumped by Cody & LA Knight during Jey Uso's entrance (at the beginning of which I caught one of the refs telling Heyman to stay out of the way of stuff). Logan Paul goes on to finish 3rd, doing better than any of the other Heyman charges anyway.

Presumably, this isn't a case of Heyman ditching the Vison for Brock - I guess we're headed for Breakker vs Rollins at Mania, where you'd assume Heyman is with Bron. So you've got Lesnar randomly suplexing at least a loose stablemate with no fanfare. I suspect he just did it of his own accord, honestly.

Edit: I was glad to see there's still some of the old "must explain everything to the total morons we assume our audience are" WWE left though, but literally putting "Original El Grande Americano" on the Gable version's tron the moment he comes back, removing a good chunk of the "intrigue" of the impending angle.

How many luchadores were in that Rumble? Felt like I was watching the 97 Rumble again and waiting for Latin Lover to turn up.

Nikki Bella having 02 on the back of her attire pretty much ruined the Brie surprise.

More masked bollocks, I found it hilarious whoever was under the hood decided to do the Moxley neck thing he does though.

Oba Femi was the highlight of the evening, Sol Ruca a close second.

Lesnar being eliminated during an entrance was just shit.

Styles off to AEW for the year then?

One thing I enjoyed was being able to watch it with my 6yr old who I rarely get a chance to watch “live” with. He enjoyed it and that’s good enough for me.

Disappointed Roman won. Would it have hurt them to have had Gunther go on and do it, or anyone else new for that matter? Even would have settled for Logan tbh to start a bit of Vision infighting.

Womens rumble was meh, but the right person won. Sol looked good. Bella’s can bugger off.

Across the two rumbles, none of them had that “water cooler” moment. A moment to truly talk about. Yes, Oba looked good, Hobbs arrived but really, where’s the bits that happened to truly talk about? No proper legend appearances and some seriously illogical storytelling.

Kit Wilson cameo was a big missed Opportunity too, shocked they didn't do a comedy spot with him.

Did they ever explain why there was a random Hilux on the stage?

Haven't watched WWE in years but I saw a couple of clips earlier. What was with those lights on the seats? Abysmal look, made it look like something from the pandemic era.

One of the new NBA arenas (the place they did the Netflix premiere from, think Vegas) has them and you can do lightshows with them so obviously WWE want that as much as possible. Who cares if it looks like it's empty, as long as there's more LEDs.

@DazzM I think it was probably a Dodge Ram on the stage, they were one of the main sponsors (Ram logos on the turnbuckles, Drew shown "arriving in style" in one.

I think this is just a modern stadium thing. I've seen events at some arenas in the States that have the same thing. Dreadful innit?

LOL - I noticed that too. Did anyone also notice Liv not pointing to the WrestleMania sign so the ref had to shout it out to her? I think by the time Roman pointed to the sign the pyro had stopped too 😄

I found the whole thing with AJ and the gloves odd...I was assuming he was going to leave them in the ring but then he changes his mind. I thought it might be some angle but then Michael Cole confirms that's it for AJ.

I know Rey Fenix hasn't really done much but surely they could have given him a few cool spots in there!

I have to admit I did laugh at the Miro quick exit.

I thought they were being a little restrained with the pyro/fireworks for a Saudi show....then we got that firework display at the end 😆
