That's Alfred Konuwa for you.

I read the Forbes review, and thought "why is this so shit?", and then saw Konuwa's byline at the bottom and it all made sense.

There's a point where he references the TLC match paying tribute to a famous Adam Cole/Ricochet spot (your guess is as good as mine) from "back when Ricochet was relevant", as if Ricochet isn't doing his career best work right now and wasn't ever anything but an afterthought in WWE.

Can't say I have much interest in Brock vs Cena in 2025.

I was hoping we would get Cena vs Paul at some point as if it's the Cena that turned up last night then that could be fantastic.

Said all along that the Mania night one main event will be Seth vs Punk for the participation belt, I really don't see anything else.

Cody/Roman 3 for the second night.

Books like Vince Russo. Manages like Vince McMahon. Ethics of Donald Trump. He truly is The Game.

Good job they're different now.

I know you’re not meaning to do this, but I think lumping it all on Triple H lets the rest of the company off the hook. Ultimately, he’s the head of creative - and he almost certainly isn’t responsible for their overall strategy, which appears to involve cozying up to Trump.

When he’s no longer useful, they’ll ditch him for someone else, and people who shouldn’t be let off the hook can act as if they had nothing to do with the unpopular stuff. They have a very useful scapegoat, who does deserve scorn - but he’s closer to being Karoline Leavitt than he is even JD Vance or Marco Rubio. They’re all morally bankrupt.

It would be INSANE for TKO to get rid of Triple H. Can you imagine how bad WWE will be when wrestlers don't know what camera to point at or when to pose during an entrance.

Anyway, bunch of cunts.

I agree that the company as a whole is a cesspit, but if Triple H wants to make himself the face and voice of the company and take the credit for absolutely everything, then it's only fair that he shoulders an equal proportion of the blame, and if he was half as smart as he think he is, he'd have been disappearing into the background and letting someone else take all the flak rather than making sure everyone knows it's him pulling the strings.

He is, quite literally, the face of the company. He's made everything about him. He's taken full credit for the hot streak they were on going into WM 41. He's been so busy being the genius booking and hiring talent that he could barely read a lawsuit, the poor sod. He deserves all the chickens coming home to roost.

TKO are absolute shithouses, and definitely not the people you want in charge of a company that needed a root and branch transformation after Vince McMahon's evils finally made some headlines but Triple H is the person front and centre of post-McMahon WWE and deserves all the flak for the disgusting decisions they make, and less importantly, for the sports entertainment product.

More than that even. With how he's positioned on social media/TV and now Unreal you could easily make the argument that he's the main character of WWE with everyone else being interchangeable and disposable side characters. Going forwards, even if a decision is out of his hands, he has to take the blame and flak for it and rightly so.

Looking past the morality of it all I'm not even sure why anyone would be interested in a Brock return. His act was boring as fuck years ago.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying he’s blameless or deserves less flak - but I think the way he’s positioned as the new Vince allows the company to get rid off him and treat it like a fresh start, when it absolutely would not be. They’ll put someone else in place with a similar ego and willingness to appear on camera - someone like Paul Heyman perhaps - and continue to use that person to shield themselves from blame for anything awful that the company does. The damage is done to that person as opposed to WWE as an entity. Which makes sense for a morally bankrupt company to do, I just don’t like that they’re going to get away with it.

What I said above kind of applies here too - but I want to clarify here that I’m not trying to suggest you’re being unfair - I’ve compared Triple H to Karoline Leavitt for a reason - she deserves to be rinsed as much as anyone else does, but ultimately she’s a pathetic mouthpiece. That’s pretty much how I view Triple H. But he’s no less deserving of criticism because of that.

Well done for reminding them.

Well worth whatever they paid her to squawk one line and wonder why no one cheered for Logan Paul.

It’s not a good comparison, she’s just a mouthpiece whereas Trippers has positioned himself as the MAIN CHARACTER, he’s explicitly using every opportunity including his fake reality show to model himself after Dana White, he’s far more than a lowly press spokesperson.

I think describing Triple H as a "pathetic mouthpiece" would be unfair to what his role actually is, he's way more than some puppet for TKO, and lets him off the hook for his awful judgement and lack of ethics.

I’m convinced that, if the Jimmy Savile allegations emerged today, there would be a sizeable portion of people - your GB News types - defending him and his legacy by tying it all in to ‘woke’.

Urgh. Honestly, this is the truth isn't it? I can imagine ol crafty w@ank ranting what a beloved child's entertainer he is and people should leave him alone?

Triple H really hitting self destruct, it's mad how much of an echo chamber he must have to create for himself to believe this is a good move for the company. He will be world champ by Mania won't he? Much like Vince he will be totally into the 'Brock v everyone' booking. I understand the concept of 'not always doing what people expect' but this isn't it. I haven't seen one positive reaction across socials today.

The seeds are being planted for a Vince return, if he settles out of court by Christmas then he will be in wwe hall of fame next year.

They're trying to position Levesque as WWE's Dana White, explicitly. There are people above him who could have and should have stopped him, of course, but let's not doubt he was a driver.

I was shocked they had the gall to bring him back. I was shocked that they thought "well it's not a legal concern anymore, so it's fine", as if PR and, you know, morality don't play a part. They've learned nothing. They've changed nothing. They deserve nothing. I'm glad some good eggs are earning good money working there, but I need to stop watching.

I cannot imagine what it must feel like as a woman in that company right now, back office or performer.

Night two was better than night one, but who cares? Disgusted.
