Yes that was a great touch, it's the little things. That and Swerve placing the chain on the apron were my two favourite moments of the night.

(I do always think though that the implication of the separate entrances is that there are separate heel & face backstage areas, but heels and faces are endlessly crossing paths backstage, so...)

Overall my thoughts on the show are very similar to FLips - it was generally good, but there were a lot of clunky moments, lots of people seemed to be slightly off (or just utter garbage, like Tay Melo).

It was all about the main event for me though and I wasn't disappointed, despite not being the biggest fan of the blood & gore elements of AEW's version of this stipulation. I get why they totally pressed the reset button on Hangman's look/music/presentation to show he'd completed the arc, but the beardstache was such a great look for him.

He won though, and that's what matters.

You know those videos you sometimes see online, where babies react to their Dad’s shaving their beards off? That’s how I felt watching Juice Robinson. Horrible.

I never kept track of all of Moxley’s crimes these past seven months, all the cat burgling, murder, poisoning and kidnapping, but the judge should let him off entirely for that final sell job. An incredible bit of a business. Proper bad guy getting his ultimate comeuppance. All the bravado leaving his body. A coward with nowhere left to go. First panicking, refusing, and then finally accepting defeat. Belter.

A fairly average undercard imo, but the big matches all delivered.

The Adam Cole situation clearly took the wind out of the crowds sails. But they eventually got them back. Absolutely the correct result.

Wishing Cole, the best.

Mox was incredible selling the finish. Looked absolutely terrified. And the match itself was great.

Delighted that they resisted the urge to put the Woman's belt on Mone.

There's a much better story there and they can eventually rerun the match later, without 30 other belts bogging it down.

Men's gauntlet was rubbish but I really enjoyed the Woman's one. A Syuri AEW run? Sign me the fuck up.

Seemingly writing both Joe and Osprey off in the exact same was pretty weird.

Guessing Osprey is returning to the UK for a bit.

Might just be me but I've been getting the impression that Joe might be pretty banged up, since around Doubles or Nothing.

Not much to say that others havent but for all the questionable counter booking and whatever, I'm loving having a massive wrestling weekend and just losing myself in it completely. It's fucking brilliant.

I think this is the first full show I've watched since the first Wembley show and I came out of it feeling pretty positive.  I thought the main event, women's match and Ospreay tag match all delivered massively.  Omega/Okada was good but not amazing, and the rest of the show ranged from alright to forgettable, but never awful.  I really didn't enjoy either of the gauntlet matches but I expect that was at least partly down to me not knowing a lot of the underlying stories that were playing out, so returns or surprises weren't having the desired effect.

The one area I did think was pretty shoddy throughout the show was the camerawork.  I don't know if it was just me and my shit eyesight but I thought the hard camera (which they seemed to use a lot, and for quite extended periods at times) was zoomed way too far out, so anytime it flipped to that shot it was actually quite difficult to see the action.  I think they'd set it up to fit in as much of the crowd as possible which I get when you have a big crowd like that, but it was quite frustrating at times.  They also seemed to flip between shots at the strangest times - I can't remember the match now but there was one example where it went from close up shots of the action to this weird sweeping crane shot over the crowd that mainly seemed to show fans walking away from the match.  Nothing that's going to put me off watching again, but it all just stood out to me while watching.

Spare a thought for poor Trent Baretta. He actually appeared on this PPV for a split second during the Kenny Omega match, just after Rocky Romero got taken out a quick hard cam cut shown Trent mid bump from the apron, then he was gone. Never appeared on camera again and was never acknowledged in the first place as the announcers were calling from the monitors as you do.

He did shove Big Justice over though, which shouldn't have been as funny as it was, but it was.

Longest wrestling PPV of all time apparently. Can't complain about value for money although 6 hours is a bonkers length. Probably deliberately this long though, the main event was starting as SNME was.

It was a very good show with an amazing main event. Took longer to get going than usual for an AEW PPV as there weren't any particularly big matches on the undercard (again possibly deliberate) but once it did the bigger matches all delivered overall. Swerve & Ospreay/Bucks was great even if there were too many finisher kickouts in the end, Storm/Mone was really good as was Omega/Okada even if it didn't hit the heights of the past. Very much looking forward to that Edge and Christian farewell run too.

That main event was brilliant. Basically a cross between an ECW main event and Bloodline Rules. Hangman's two title wins have both been outstanding pro wrestling moments.

I dipped into this as a very casual AEW fan as it had Omega v Okada and was on at a reasonable time.

Well, it started at a reasonable time anyway. The length of this was ridiculous and really hurt the pacing overall.

Omega v Okada wasn’t in the same ballpark as those classics back from 17-18 but I never expected it to be and thought it was excellent anyway.

One part of AEW that really isn’t for me is all the death match stuff and attempted murders on most of their big shows so I didn’t love the main event as an actual match. But Hangman Page absolutely rules and I loved his character stuff.

Also enjoyed Storm/Mone and Bucks/Will and Swerve for what they were. I like Dustin, who doesn’t, but selling it as a big emotional moment as he became a champion after he already entered with 2 belts as a last minute replacement just didn’t hit with me. Feel terrible for Adam Cole, dude just can’t catch a break and hope he can be healthy and enjoy his life.

1. Surely the most in ring action of any PPV of all time. (All 8 matches went 14+)

2. The irony of Juice Robinson hilariously looking like 'The Juice' Juventud Guerrera was not lost on me.

I forgot Edge was called Cope, one of the all-time worst names. "Go Find Yourself" made my toes curl. Cringe shit, though I am open to an Edge and Christian final run.

It was a call back to Christian's "Go fu** yourself" to Edge when he signed. I presume that's the best they could come up with given they obviously wanted to use an F word to play on it... but, yeah. Cringe still nonetheless.

According to the Observer, WWE had sent AEW a cease and desist letter regarding Danielson’s use of the YES! chant, but Tone told him to do it anyway. Dave also mentioned that the PPV purposely ran that long so they could go head-to-head with SNME and show WWE that they won't be bullied by them.

just put the show on.

Say what you will about WWE’s 5 Match PPVs, but I should be able to put a show on at 6pm and finish it the same day with more than 4 minutes to spare. 6hrs regardless of promotion is taking the piss
