If you can't be bothered to make it yourself then who gives a fuck? Why should it even exist in the first place? Anyone can type "day today but muppets" into ChatGPT.

Technology like AI should exist to do tasks in our lives that free up time so we can create and express ourselves. Instead people are using it to create. We're fucking doomed.

We're having different conversations through misinterpretation. I'm saying on a technical level in regards to recreating what The Day Today cast would look like as Muppets, it's as good or better than someone creating the same thing on Photoshop and much quicker, hence the growing appeal.

The other conversation is would the content be more entertaining if it was created in Photoshop because a human would be able to realise 'this makes it funnier' and there's a creative process.

I think there's more scope for it being funnier and more entertaining when created by a human. The Muppets ones are soulless - technically precise but with no real comedy (sorry Scratch). It's also in its infancy, so who knows whether that gets better with tech improving/people understanding how to work with prompts better/being used in better ways as a tool side-by-side with humans.

I dunno, ethics wise, environmentally, and for the future of careers (including my own) and that it can start to kill off creativity, it's not good at the moment. But I think there's also a ton of potential in it as a tool for the good, so I'm reluctant to be full on 'fuck AI' at the moment. I guess I have a bias due to having an interest in tech too.

People I work with have been using Chat GPT to write emails and incident reports. They’re still doing it despite being bollocked by the boss. One sent an incident report to the director that literally said at the top “sure, he’s an example of an incident report”. If you’re going to copy and paste, double and triple check before sending.

I had my first ever conversation with AI today and it went't surprisingly well. I can definitely see this shit becoming a vital part of life but it ain't replacing Stewart Lee.

Started using the old AI a few months ago for work - English teaching. 

At first the results were patchy but the better I got at giving it really specific prompts and examples of what I wanted  the better the results (funny that). 

I needed to be really specific and refine what it gave back. 

I tried getting it to mark gcse lang and lit answers and it was not great, yet. 
 

job’s safe for now, I hope.

I work in the low vision sector, and a French company have a product out which is a mobile phone which runs on their own software. You can use the camera part of the phone to take photos of printed text and then it recognises the words and speaks it back to them. They've had an update in the last few months with an AI feature. You can now use the camera to take a photo of a person, object, environment, etc. And it will come back with a pretty accurate and descriptive account of what you've captured.

Real game changer for someone with no or very limited sight.
