The Reverend Posted February 18, 2025 Posted February 18, 2025 It's cold (oh so cold!) so perhaps my brain has frozen and given me this idea, plus I've been re-reading some old threads on here and came across a hilarious one where Pat Roach and the cast of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet team up to end Hulkamania in WCW circa 1995. With this in mind I was thinking of other TV shows where you could cast the various characters into the world of wrestling. First up from me - Coronation Street (the glory years as I haven't watched it since then) Lairy Southerner Mike Baldwin brings in his stable of rock hard tag team (think the Road Warriors with less muscles) The Mechanics, formed of Brian Tilsley and Kevin Webster. With his glorious golden mane and killer good looks (plus fancy leather jacket) Tilsley is the Shawn Michaels of the team. They're joined by Jack Duckworth playing a George Steele/Eugene low I.Q. character. Their mission is to destroy all-round good guy, Ken Barlow. Luckily Ken's got back-up in the large shape of 'King Kong' Alf Roberts, a babyface favourite. Over in Walford you've got the blonde knock-out valet Peggy Mitchell, bringing in her duo The Mitchell Brothers (like Steiners they arrive at ringside in jackets with a huge 'M' on them - standing of course for Mitchell, not Michigan). Will they fall foul of the President of the promotion, Frank Butcher in his Gorilla Monsoon style tinted specs. Over to you.............. Quote

Paid Members JLM Posted February 18, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 18, 2025 (edited) The mysterious Bjorn Salvo arrives on RAW. He chats to wrestlers backstage after they get attacked or betrayed and lets them vent, perhaps suggests it would be great if someone ‘took care’ of them. Then K.O. disappears and suddenly Sami Zayn is facing a murder investigation. Also I am in love with the name Bjorn Salvo. Does the Performance Centre have a suggestion box and can I access it. Dean Douglas gets terrible news about his health and starts cooking meth to make sure his family is taken care of after he dies. Gets into trouble with the DOA and other local wrestling gangs for stepping on their turf. Takes a promising young NXT talent under his wing and at first they are a heartwarming underdog babyface tag team. Surely nothing could possibly go wrong. Edited February 18, 2025 by JLM Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted February 18, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 18, 2025 Tried searching, but the genius who made that Kevin Webster compilation in the style of Creed "My Sacrifice" has either made it private or taken it down, I think. Quote

That would be the lovely @chokeout But I'm absolutely not gonna pass up an opportunity to shill my own alternative take for you to get your Kevo rocks off. Edited February 18, 2025 by Chili Quote

Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted February 19, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 19, 2025 I’m surprised none of the Gladiators have turned up in a BritWres promotion yet. Was fully expecting to see a swathe of posters with their faces plastered on them accompanied with: From BBC’s “GLADIATORS” Sheli McCoy, also known as SABRE Quote

I think that's the result of a combination of the show proving a massive hit and Britwres being on a bit of a downer at the moment. If the show gets cancelled, one of them gets sacked for misconduct of some kind or a sudden boom hits the UK scene again, then we might see some crossover. Right now I'd think it's about as likely that WWE catches wind of someone like Diamond (stunning, athletic, legit 6' so you can bill her as 6'4") and tries to sign them straight up. Quote

Cant remember who he was (and I havnt watched the revival of the show) so no idea who he actually is. Comes out in a gladiator jacket and to the shows music. Edit: Looks like he's just called "Gladiator" Wesley Edited February 20, 2025 by Cod Eye Quote
Sheffbag Posted February 20, 2025 Posted February 20, 2025 That will be Wesley Nsereko who made the final last season. Top guy. He works quite a few promotions and was at Pursuit Pro Wrestling in Sheffield last year for a charity show for Sheffield Childrens Hospital alongside Bronte Jones who was a female finalist (and pretty good for a first timer) who is also from Sheffield and Jake who Wesley replaced in Gladiators when he got injured. To be fair to him, he looked ok and wasnt out of place next to some guys who have been at it years like Kirby et al. Quote

Looking back at it now, you can tell. I don't follow BritWres so more or less everyone was new to me, but the kids love going to MegaSlam the twice a year they come to Barnsley so we go. I was surprised by how good the talent was. Quote
