SaitoRyo Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 Mickie James and The Hardys seem like good shouts. Ken Shamrock's been angling for a HOF induction for a while and signed a Legends deals last year, so he seems like a strong possibility, if not this year then within the next couple of years. Quote
Merzbow Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 What Japanese wrestler could go in? They seem to be doing that more often with old New Japan guys, maybe Chono? Quote

Aja Kong seems one of the most likely, since she worked for WWE during the mid-90s. Wouldn't surprise me after they inducted Bull Nakano last year. I'd stick Tajiri in, because I fucking love me some Tajiri, but that'll never happen. Ultimo Dragon is HOF-worthy imo for his overall career, but his WWE run was notoriously disappointing so I dunno. I could also see Chono being inducted at some point, since he worked for WCW a bunch and they'll have the footage to show. Quote

Good shout, has a history with WWE through SWS although that was a huge failure of a company.. and the Rumble showings etc, he had a really interesting career and is often painfully overlooked by Western audiences compared to other Japanese legends. Mr Butternut Squash Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 (edited) Great shout. Thought Tenryu might be in already to be honest. I've been on a Tenryu kick recently and watched a load of SWS and it might be my favourite crap wrestling ever. And it's not just the bizarro world WWF crossover matches, even the natives are blowing spots all over the place. It's fun seeing how the WWF guys do in that environment. Some real weird gems there too, like the awesome Yatsu/Haku tag team, and The Model Rick Martel getting to grips with junior shootstylist Naoki Sano. Tenryu vs Hogan is cracking too. Merzbow Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 Tenryu could put on a five star methodical deathmatch, too. These matches always played by Onita's rules but not this time, this is wholly a Tenryu take on things and it works really well. Quote
TheScarlettChad Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 WIll never happen but Tanahashi? Quote

Sheffbag Posted February 6, 2025 Posted February 6, 2025 Kobashi would be a good shout for a Japanese entry in it Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted February 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 6, 2025 for Japanese names, I think it would have to be someone who at least worked for the WWF or WCW - otherwise I'd suggest Fujiwara. They're not likely to induct anyone they don't have footage of, or someone closely associated with NJPW while NJPW are working so closely with AEW. So Tenryu is definitely a good shout. Otherwise, they're friendly with NOAH at the moment, so it could be someone on good terms with them. The other possibility is, given the amount of Mexican talent on the roster right now, that they induct a Lucha name rather than a Japanese one in that spot. There's talk of El Hijo del Dr Wagner Jr being WWE-bound, so maybe they induct Wagner Sr. and/or Jr., or Silver King. Quote
