It's less a waste and more optics of her on NXT to the mutants though. This big AEW star from a celebrated storyline starting in the minors. Looks good, doesn't mean she was a something. Underdogs!

They’ll have another hot spell I’m sure,

Well there's usually about 10 years minimum between each WWE hot spell so we might be waiting awhile.

Might make sense for her to be on NXT considering they've lost most of their biggest names to the main roster now.

I mean they also just sacked a load of them too.

According to Fightful, she’s expected to start with WWE imminently. You’re probably right about her starting on NXT, but it seems like an enormous waste given how good she is.

I’m really disappointed to see her leave AEW though. She was a key part of elevating their women’s division to where it is now, and WWE feels so tepid right now. They’ll have another hot spell I’m sure, but it feels miles away at the moment. Good luck to her though, she’s incredibly talented.

This is a real sink or swim moment for Mariah May. She had a small window of time where she was separated from Toni in AEW, and it wasn't great. That might just be because of Toni's gravitational pull, but also her promos aren't anything special. She certainly has the opportunity now to prove she's more than just a good foil. Hope she takes it.

WWE was reportedly her dream, so good luck to her. Follow your dreams. Get your bag. We need more two year speed runs in pro-wrestling. Get in. Create magic. Get out before you become Wardlow.

However, I don’t have high hopes for her WWE run. Her non-Toni Storm work in AEW was just okay. The type of stuff that would fade into nothingness in 2025 Fed. Imagine her trying to pitch anything similar to the Hollywood Ending in that company.

AEW's lucky that it has a lot of great women on the roster who can rise and take her place pretty quickly if booked right, as sad as it is to see her leave.  Although half of them might be killing themselves in hardcore matches, that was one rough as all bollocks but entertaining tag match.

Mariah May has been removed from the AEW website which is usually a sign of something. Gonna be amazing when she debut's on that counter programming NXT show they've got coming up. Good luck to her though, really enjoyed her AEW run as a character in the Toni story. Almost like a modern territory run or something.

One more... For the underdogs.

You know that Trips will have her debut at Evolution 2 as well probably, thinking about it I'm not really that arsed/excited about any real matchups or owt so fair play to Mariah if she's getting her dream job. It's mad but can see a lot more if the speedruns as @Supremo mentioned, only good for both fans and wrestlers if more of it happens I say.

It's been said over and over, but never enough: Hangman is just the absolute best. Literally the only person to get an actual emotional reaction from me since being a kid (beyond, you know, 'that was ace'). His heel turn genuinely hurt and upset me, and his emergence back to the light... brilliant. Add the extras around him still hating Swerve and Im more than in on this.

Edit: emotional reaction in wrestling, Im not Dennis Reynolds

I'm not really bothered about Mariah going to WWE purely because I think she was only ever relevant in AEW within the context of Toni Storm. She was the antagonist in Toni Storm's story for a year and change and that's about it. She was good in the role but she was always Richard Hillman, not Gail Platt.

See, now I'm disappointed she didn't trap Toni in a car and maniacally drive it into a river while screaming 'I love you!!!!'.

Bastard.
