The King of Old School Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 (edited) I don't mind the TNT title, should be used as more of an old school "TV Title" though, only have it defended on television, don't bother putting it on PPV, and have all the matches have a 15 minute time limit. Agree on unifying the international and continental though, absolutely no need for both of them. Will they call the winner the Inter-Continental champion? You can absolutely see the potential for AEW to have a women’s tag division that puts WWE’s half-hearted effort to shame, and hopefully creates a bit of envy to the point it pushes them to do better also. This is the behaviour of an addict. Quote

While I’d say the period with Christian claiming he was the Champion when it was actually Luchasaurus was a fun story, no past champion (still in the company) is better off for having won it Quote
Paid Members Chris B Posted June 5, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 5, 2025 Maybe this show would have felt faster with a Braun Strowman match or 15 minute Miz promo. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted June 5, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 5, 2025 Seems to me there should just be eight belts - four men's, four women's. World Uppermidcard title Tag Trios I've never understood the difference between "World" and "International" - unless "World" means you're champion of the oceans, sky, and maybe Antarctica? Or "World" in a wider sense, meaning the universe? Quote

Ah, I see. I quite like that idea. Would also be a novel way to introduce people from other countries that you've signed. Immediately starts them out as a big deal. Quote
Chili Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 Genuinely happy to see Tay Melo finally return, I always thought she had some goods to her. Plus it reminded me of that Street Fight TayJay had with the Bunny & Penelope Ford that turned into an absolute bloodbath and one of the biggest surprise TV matches of AEW in the holy year of 2021. Paid Members LaGoosh Posted June 5, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted June 5, 2025 A pretty great Dynamite and a passable Collision that I would have enjoyed on separate days but 4 hours is always going to be a slog no matter what. And they're doing it again next week! Thekla's music is really bad. I wish Hechicero could stick around, he fits in perfectly with the Don Callis Family. Quote
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted June 5, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 5, 2025 Absolute peak TK to book a 4 hour combined Dynamite and Collision exactly as if they switched from live to taped for Saturdy night about 2 and a half hours in. I really enjoyed the Dynamite portion. I only finished the rest because it was on the background. Far too many fucking masks for my liking but I guess they do have an Arena Mexico show in 2 weeks. I like the look of the Hurt Syndicate but I'm really not having the heel turn. It was stark when MVP just started insulting the crowds but now they're having Bobby diss a "hometown" crowd that love him. Piss poor stuff really, should have been a turn over a period of time. Instigated by MJF. On a brighter note, Hangman's winning. It's happening. Get the tissues ready. Quote
Chili Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 I like The Cru by the way. There, I've said it. Lio Rush is better as a mouthy prick and Action Andretti just looks like an arsehole who isn't likeable. They've finally found a good role for him not way above his station. Perfectly fine as some mid card heel team, those coats they wear are prime massive wanker attire and I'm all for it. Quote

digforvictory Posted June 5, 2025 Posted June 5, 2025 4 hours is of course just way too long for an episode of wrestling. As others have said it was basically an excellent Dynamite followed by a decent Collision. Which is the usual story with AEW, it's just that this time they aired back to back. The crowd deserve a special mention though, they stayed pretty loud and hot all night. I think they dipped very slightly in the middle but quickly got a 2nd wind and even during the final match they were pretty loud and into it. It would have been terrible to have a 4 hour show in front of a dead crowd but they were great. All In looking great so far, 3 amazing matches announced. Quote

The Hurt Syndicate got over by being genuinely great and cool as fuck over the last few months. The kind of forced heeldom they done this week takes the buzz out of it for me. MJF is totally watering them down. The absolute momentum opposite of the syndicate as they were. I think MJF had it before. He might have it again. But he's absoloutely not got it right now. I genuinely zoned out into a daydream when he was doing that small time shit with the other three (speaking of which, never give Speedball the mic again. He should be a pleasant Steve Blackman.) Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted June 5, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 5, 2025 I enjoyed the show in general, second half more than the first. But Thekla... my first exposure and I very much enjoyed her. Even if my wife did call her Pokeball tits. Quote
