A random Saturday afternoon and Mean Gene announces "New WWF Champion..." and I think Ric Flair, obviously, as he had only just won it (in the grand scheme of things) and then he goes "Bret The Hitman Hart!!" What? When did that happen? Did I miss something? I even thought he might have said "Intercontinental Champion" and they were showing an old episode but, no, there he was. New WWF champion.... and they never showed the match on TV either. All very odd. Still, it did appear on a VHS release a year later but at the time it was unprecedented regarding the WWE title. Quote

I did eventually warm to him but Bret winning the title was definitely a sign to me that the glory days were over. Good tape but very much “the proper stars are all gone” vibe, Lest we forget the tape had a series of skits of our Alfred doing some DIY with The Bushwhackers Quote

Lord Alfred was awesome, played the upper class twit perfectly and him and Sean Mooney were always a great easy listen to on commentary because there’s a genuine warmth between them both. Most of what they commentated on together was meaningless in the grand scheme of things and so it was a relaxed and pleasant time. And their skits together were always amusing nonsense. Invasion 1992 with them doing Star Trek was always a favorite of mine Quote
