Memphis legend Bill Dundee has passed away. His matches with Jerry Lawler helped make that territory into one of the most popular in the US.

Later also to become Regal's manager in WCW.

I grew up watching the Wrestling Channel and as a teen had a bit of a soft spot for all the Memphis stuff I could find anywhere. Dundee was magnificent and a real talent.

Bill Dundee was one of the all time greats, the eternal friend and foe of Jerry Lawler. Wrestlers like him can’t and won’t exist ever again sadly but him, Lawler, Jimmy Hart and Lance Russell made Memphis wrestling the best territory ever. RIP to the Superstar.

TMZ are now reporting that Andy Williams aka The Butcher has passed, only 48.. what the hell? I think I've made it known a bunch that I was a big fan of his, the kinda big guy I wanted to get a push in AEW.

Gutted. Being an ETID fan as well as a wrestling fan, obviously, I was super invested in his story and thought he could have thrived in a bigger spot.

Man, that's really sad news. I always liked The Butcher's look, he was one of the most menacing looking big men on the scene today. Wrestlers dying young has become a rarity thankfully, so when they do happen the news hits harder than it used to.

I think this Wednesday's Dynamite, already slated to be the Rebel Heart tribute show, might be the most unwatchably sad episode of television ever made.

This has really taken the wind out of me. He seemed like such an honest, good guy just doing things he loved.

48 is no age. I hope he got every ounce of joy he could out of living 2 dreams, even if not for long enough.

That’s such sad news to hear. Butcher was one of my favourite lower card AEW guys, always enjoyed him showing up, and loved how he developed a rep over time of being lethal in a battle royal. RIP.

I'm absolutely gutted by this, around 2018 I really got into Every Time I Die so it was such a lovely surprise when The Butcher turned up in AEW at its creation. He just seemed such a lovely bloke who seemed to be having such a great time being involved in two of his loves. 

I did have a sad feeling about it this morning when no further report was made after he collapsed and that no news over time seemed like it would end up being a tragic outcome. 

He was such a great look and a big brutish badass and I do wish he had done more in wrestling but hopefully he got as much enjoyment out of it as he wanted. 

It's a real shock and an absolute shame. I am gutted about this.

I've been watching a load of Bill Dundee on these Memphis comps recently and he was awesome, much better as a heel. A mouthy, sneaky little shit. Everything I saw him in was great.

Absolutely gutted about The Butcher. One of my 'boys stable' lads for any OSW fans there. He had an incredible look, a proper mean looking bruiser. Always enjoyed The Butcher, Blade, Bunny act, they looked well skill together. 48 years old. Terrible news.

This looks to be confirmed now, but I think AEW need to be the ones to grasp the nettle and confirm it officially if so.

There's a lot of tribute posts online being utterly ruined by nobheads arguing about misinformation in the comments.

If he's confirmed to be gone, someone with authority needs to say that and let everyone catch their breath. Currently a moment that should be uniting people is being weirfly divisive.
