Like you I have no dog in this fight, and I don’t think anyone is celebrating his death. However, there’s a difference between that and not sanitising who someone was - and I think that’s an important distinction. If you do that, there’s a real danger you suggest their actions were excusable, or didn’t matter really - that all is forgiven. Given that this person’s actions included mocking mass shootings and bigotry, I don’t think it’s wrong for people to say that’s not OK, in life or in death. If anything, it’s a cautionary story. If you want people to remember you positively, consider what you do and say. Quote

Almost all the comments were absolutely insane guff like “we had our battles….but may he rest in peace” or “he was so committed to his gimmick” I feel like I have gone insane. I have a vague memory of him being a troll on the F4W website in the 00s when Bryan Alvarez launched one of the worst internet wrestling message* boards of all time. I gather that he never really moved on from that as many years later, I noticed he was on twitter tweeting hundreds of times per day. *on the subject of that, I had a picture of my SHOOT face on that board when I briefly posted there in 2005. For some reason, a lot of Americans thought I was an attractive woman (and not a Scottish boy in his late teens). I remember one day “Anchor” posted that he saw me in Glasgow Queen Street Station and what I was wearing. Just bizarre behaviour even for a wrestling forum in the 00s. hopefully all involved find peace. Quote
