Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted December 21, 2024 Author Paid Members Posted December 21, 2024 I'm all for Postecoglou continuing to have his sides play like that, it's obviously hugely entertaining. But he's never going to win anything substantial playing that way - yet at the same time, I think he knows that. Maybe he knows his squad isn't good enough to challenge for the league or even Champions League spots and he's thinking sod it, let's just have some fun. Maybe he'll manage to win the odd cup, if he sticks around, and that would be an improvement on what Spurs have managed for decades. Quote

It's ludicrous. We're currently putting 16yo's who have never made first team appearances on the bench for league games. That's the level we're at. I think the league cup games were a really good example of that. Liverpool able to rest Salah, Van Dijk and Trent, fresh for tomorrow, and still field a strong side and we're running the bare bones of an 11 into the ground every game. You're right, it's not sustainable and never will be when you can't just go and spunk 100m on a midfielder like only 3 or 4 clubs can. tl:dr give me a cup so I can kill the spreadsheet. Quote
Cousin Jim Bob Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 I'm enjoying this beautiful Christmas present the two Manchester clubs are giving the football world right now, by both being fucking useless. Quote

Paid Members Carbomb Posted December 22, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 22, 2024 Ridiculous game, that was. Fun, but mental. Fair play to Spurs for still trying and threatening until the end. Quote
Paid Members Wretch Posted December 22, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 22, 2024 They’ll come to the City Ground on Boxing Day now and batter us. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted December 22, 2024 Author Paid Members Posted December 22, 2024 6-3 flattered Spurs hugely. Kulusevski aside, they were appalling. Bissouma appears to have become Scott McTominay judging by how many times he gives the ball away. Quote
Mr_Danger Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Only caught the last half hour so only saw the four goals. What happened to Spurs getting 5 yellow cards every game? They deffo need a bit more shithousery. I know Dom Solanke doesn’t become the player he is today if he stays at Liverpool but he shits all over Nunez as far as I’m concerned. Slot is already bestowing the virtues of thriftiness at Liverpool so it looks to be another quiet one for us. We could really do with another body in midfield. If Chiesa and Jota could muster a bit of prolonged fitness that would be nice too. Just the three of our three best players are open to signing pre contracts in a little over a week. Get it fucking sorted! Quote

I’ve watched them enter injury time at 1-0 and lose 2-1. I’ve seen them concede 4 and still win, and score 4 and still lose, and there’s been so many 4-4 draws and oddball 5-3 or 6-4 games you’d think they played in the Cubs league. As you were. AR Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted December 22, 2024 Members Posted December 22, 2024 One other thing, the amount of Liverpool fans in our stand was unbelievable. I'm not talking one or two, I'd say there was a good few hundred which is an absolute disgrace. We were right by the away fans so I guess if you're a Liverpool fan that was the next best thing, but it was incredible how many there were. And by other fans reports, all round the stadium as well. 2 hours ago, Devon Malcolm said: Kulusevski aside There will be some absolutely monster bids for him in the summer and he'd be mental not to take the chance. Destined for the very top. Quote

Admittedly its a low bar but I couldn’t bare to watch Spurs games by the midway point of Mourinho/Conte’s reigns. At least I’m still somewhat looking forward to games and not considering Spurs to be utterly defeated before the games have even kicked off with only a turgid 90 mins of ‘football’ to ‘look forward’ to. I'm not asking for myself but how are they pulling that off at big clubs ? I thought resales were linked to yearly paid membership members . Quote

In theory you can only buy a ticket, resale or other as a member, but after hearing someone two rows behind talk about receiving a QR code from someone he bought a ticket off, that's probably how people are getting round it. Honestly, hundreds of them in the stand. I believe next year the club are moving to a one off QR which you can't screenshot, but it probably won't help. Quote
