He wasn't. There's no hill to die on mate, I think it was very clear he wasn't the right man at the time, and the fact that he is doing so well currently with Forest has no bearing on how he did with us. His time at Spurs was dreadful.

I also think he's a really nice lad, so while I'm happy to coat off Mourinho and Conte all day long, he gets a pass from me

Forest are set up for Nuno’s brand of football. Loads of solid hardworking players and plenty of pace around a big strong boy up top. Even if he’d been given the time and money at Spurs they’d never settle for that. It’s not even a tactic that has great results at a team like Spurs where 16 teams in the league will be trying the same thing meaning there are no attacks to counter. 
 

You see it with Liverpool a lot. We’ll try and trick teams in to attacking us so we can break the two banks of four and get in. That’s why when a Leicester goes 1-0 up early doors we can have a hard time. It’s exactly why Forest have had our number a couple of times in the last few of years.

The documentary itself was good, reveals no new information, but I did get teary at how much love Ole clearly has for the big man. Every time he spoke about him, I welled up.

Not sure how a manager can actually solidify his position after a home defeat, but that's where I am with Ange Postecoglou atm.

The post-match analysis actually had the audacity to bring up Newcastle's supposed defensive injury woes and fans of other clubs seem to think they're subject to similar injury issus, but until I see broadcasters having to bring in similar ticker tapes across the bottom of the screen showing how many players they have out I think they can shut it tbh.

Considering the half of the squad that did play today had the shits, if there was any justice in the world Spurs would have had a point at least.

McCoist giving Austin the MOTM was a really nice touch (after Ally had wound me up all game ?) but it was the ultimate "Aaawww didn't he do well" head pat.

And I know he was unwell but Dragusin is bloody awful. He might be one of the worst defenders we've ever had and there is some STRONG competition there. 

Still, up the Spurs, Ange in and all that.

Cracking bit of gumf on BBC Football today about Damian Comolli, “the man who brought Henry, Van Persie, Modric and Suarez to England.”

As a Spurs fan I prefer to think of himself as the man who (according to The Times, circa August 2008) planned an overhaul around breaking even on inbound and outbound, centred around meeting the asking prices of Spartak and Zenit for Pavlyuchenko and Arshavin respectively, so long as he got what he needed from Man Utd and Liverpool for Berbatov and Keane respectively. With deals done for Pav and Keane, his stubborn refusal to budge on Berbatovs price or pay up for Arshavin first meant that by the time the Bulgarian was delivered to Old Trafford, it was too late to complete on Arshavin.

An approach that saw us buy Andy Carroll for £35m because we’d banked £50m for Torres and already agreed for £20m odd for Suarez. I reckon if it wasn’t for Suarez Newcastle could have got even more for Carroll. Not his biggest crime though. His biggest crime was Charlie ‘his corners alone are worth £10m’ Adam.

It's bad, but when Comolli bollocksed up my lot's 2008-09 plan of replacing 40+ goals the season before by signing Russia's strike partnership from Euro 2008, he not only scuppered the season in general but it cost the job of the last manager to date, 27 years later, who'd actually put a pot in the cabinet. Story goes that Zenit told him repeatedly what Arshavin would cost and three times he bid less. By the time he came back with the number they'd already given him, it was too late. JUST PAY IT, you daft prick!!

It was during the return of Kenny in FSG’s first year of ownership. That was his first window. The summer after where he signed Henderson, Adam and Downing we missed out on Phil Jones. By the time Rodgers was trying to swap Henderson for Clint Dempsey he’d already gone.
