I feel this series has lost all momentum heading into the final. It was building and building up to the cathartic moment of them finally banishing a traitor, which was a great moment, but it took them too long to do it, and so we didn't get the usual thing of the Traitors regrouping and recruiting, to reshuffle the deck in the later stages. Now it should look plain as day who the remaining Traitors are, if you follow the logic that it's so unlikely the producers would not have selected a female, and Alan can't stop laughing about being one. I'm expecting a Faithful win with little drama now, though I don't know if the show has any twists in store this time?

The best (maybe only) hope for team traitors is to try to get David onside and oust Joe or Nick. He’s been so thoroughly useless throughout, it should be quite doable. But I can see Cat or Alan breaking their pinky promise, to try and make it to the end solo.

I think that’s fair, but I also think if that’s legitimately part of who you are, it’s fair to say it. It’s almost certainly legitimately true, but is also a rare situation in which this truth proves helpful.

If the Faithfuls win I agree that it is kind of ending on a damp squib, but if the Traitors somehow pull it out of the bag, it will be a fantastic twist in the story, cementing it as my favourite series of the show ever.

I don’t think it’s an impossibility either as David is a bit of a wildcard.

Again, I think it's a case of still being fun because the simple is never simple on this show. Especially this series! They've proven time and again that they're utterly useless so there's every possibility that something goes wrong in the end.

I’d love it if it did. Alan Carr has been the best traitor ever, he’s really embraced the role by acting like a cartoon supervillain. He’s already a huge name, but this has surely elevated him even further in the eyes of the public.

Jonathan Ross going around talking about how he didn’t enjoy being part of this does worry me when it comes to future series though - I’d hate for the cast to be a step down from what they had here.

I think most people have come out of it seeming to have had fun, and it's a show that still feels like must-see almost prestige telly, so I think if they do another celebrity one (and surely they will) it will still attract big names - for everyone who might be turned off, I imagine there's twice as many kicking themselves that they said no, or furiously asking their agent why they weren't put forward for it.

What it does for people's careers coming out of it will be a big factor too, you'd have thought. I'd be amazed if Joe Marler doesn't get a lot more TV work off the back of this, and if I'm Channel 4 or Dave I'm already pitching the Joe Marler & Joe Wilkinson travel series.

This really has been unbelievable and a complete rollercoaster throughout, why they bring a final task/game before the final roundtable which almost guarantees the traitor's are eliminated completely ruins the whole thing.

I pray next Thursday I am wrong and it doesn't play that way but it is almost definate.

What a tremendous finale, I did not see that coming at all. My wife was confident that we were in for a Traitors win before the Cat banishment, and I was very much on the Kfogg side of things thinking it was an obvious outcome; to the point I agreed that we’d go to Nando’s this weekend if she was right. I really, really hate Nando’s.

So as delighted as I was at the result at first - Alan Carr is surely the greatest Traitor of all time - the reality of what I said is starting to hit me and the long-term effects of this remain to be seen.

What a series. Someone needs to insert Joe into that old "if you slow it down you can see the exact moment his heart breaks" meme. Alan Carr was somehow both the worst and best traitor of all time. In hindsight it's obviously been edited to make a faithful win look inevitable so they could have the big twist at the end, but 10/10 for execution. They've got a lot to live up to next year.

Possibly the best end of a game show ever.  Allan Carr just completely wiped the floor with them.  Especially surprised that Nick Mohammed fell for it as he’s a legit genius.  Just amazing.

Incredibly happy that neither Cat or Joe won. This show rarely has the right winner and I think Alan had earned it.

I've never watched Traitors before and honestly I don't think I need to watch any others as that was a perfect season of television wasn't it?

In a competition with Stephen Fry, Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga its Joe Marler and Alan Carr who are the smartest in the room. 

The last episode was incredible TV and my heart broke at the same time Joe's did. He explained to Nick exactly what would happen but Nick got in his own head and completely fell apart last night. I honestly though Nick was going to choose banish again so I was shocked when he chose to end the game. At the final table I think Alan won the game with that very simple speech telling them about Joe agreeing to vote for David. Joe should have explained that it was all part of the plan and maybe he could have kept Nick on side. I enjoyed David's highlight reel which was just footage of him putting his head in his hands after banishing faithfuls the entire game. 

Anyway what a legend Alan Carr is, I'm absolutely thrilled he somehow won the whole thing and the hug with the three of them at the end was lovely

David’s got to be the worst player of all time, just a total shitarse until the very end. Glorious.

My wife reminded me that I theorised a possible traitors win by virtue of Nick overthinking it and fucking himself. So I guess the lesson is, if you theorise enough possible outcomes, you might accidentally nail one.
