Paid Members stumobir Posted October 9 Paid Members Posted October 9 Turning in to a bit of a dud series for me. Dreadful choice of Traitors, from the beginning and through recruitment. A shame as the full cast seem lovely, I’ve even done a 180 on Miranda Hart. Quote

I’m still enjoying it, but fully agree on traitor choice. Maya is a total nonentity, zero charisma and will probably go quite far because she’s such a bag of nothing. Great for her, but not exactly compelling television. Although having said that, every time they show her talking with a faithful in the castle, she looks so guilty, though maybe that’s just me. And the you’ve got James and Hannah who don’t like being traitors and just want it to be over already. Where’s Paul from S2 when you need him? Quote

Great for her, but not exactly compelling television. She can be quite entertaining on social media when tackling the misogynistic/racist trolls, so I kinda like her for that reason. But yeah, not the best choice of Traitor. I think she’d have been perfectly fine alongside two bigger personalities, but as it is, you just don’t have that. I’d have probably gone with Joe Lycett, Miranda Hart and James Blunt, if I were them. Joanne McNally has it in her to be a great Traitor too. The Traitors are playing a really dumb game too. They shouldn’t have killed Bella last night, as everyone pointed out. The choice of murder victims tonight was really foolish and for the first time maybe ever I’m finding myself rooting for the Faithfuls, given how sloppy the Traitors have all been. Quote
Mr_Danger Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Miranda Hart is scoring herself an Agatha Christie off the back of this, which is great news as it keeps her terrible comedy at bay. She’s a good player. Hannah Fry is a terrible traitor, which she said as much herself tbf. I was quite impressed that she said she had a list of all the permeations of traitors based on interactions etc but that quickly fell apart as soon as she entered the turret, was surprised at who the traitors were and has struggled with the other side of the game. Big brains can’t lie. I’m not even sure intelligence is the boon they think it is on Traitors. For my money all the best players have been simple to average on the intellect scale. Wilf and the army lad the year after being prime examples. Too much thinking neglects the obvious I think. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted October 10 Paid Members Posted October 10 I think James Acaster has the best idea when he talked about just playing the game as a faithful. I know that’s basically what you’re meant to do anyway but I think a traitor who kills at random for shock value and doesn’t plot and plan and get caught up in poor lies because of it could go far. Paid Members Jazzy G Posted October 11 Paid Members Posted October 11 It would have worked for Wilf in the first series if that other bloke hadn't gotten sour grapes and shouted his name on the way out the door. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted Monday at 07:22 PM Paid Members Posted Monday at 07:22 PM Yeah I agree with the general sentiment about the lineup this year. A bland, dull and weirdly passive aggressive bunch. I can also see the logic in filling it up with comedians but they made the critical error of not getting any comedians who are actually funny. wordsfromlee Posted Tuesday at 06:57 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:57 PM Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie said that they interviewed Richard E. Grant back in June on their BBC 6Music show and Richard told them then that he was a traitor on the show. Luckily it was pre-recorded and the producers edited that bit out so not to spoil it. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted yesterday at 08:47 AM Paid Members Posted yesterday at 08:47 AM Hannah had to go really, she’s been on borrowed time since the second she entered the castle. The game is incredibly biased towards smart people and overly nice people because people get it in their heads they’d make a good traitor. I’m not sure as well that the traitors had to recruit only her or Jerry as the shields only protect from murder and not recruitment right? Either way she was toast, because as was said, someone as smart as her would be killed immediately anyway. Absolutely love Ross Kemp in this. Cartoonishly intense. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted yesterday at 09:07 AM Posted yesterday at 09:07 AM Hannah almost convinced me she wasn't a Traitor and I'm watching the damn show. She really is smart and commands attention when she speaks. I mean luckily they had enough to go for her, but I'm never a fan of the "well you'd make a good Traitor!" approach because that's just not a valid argument in the slightest. And to be honest, sometimes it's the smartest ones that look like the biggest tits, because they think they've got it all figured out and then they're completely wrong. You're only as smart as what you're working with, and if there's misdirects or conversation pieces that really didn't mean anything then you're forming opinions on false narratives. Quote
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted yesterday at 09:43 AM Paid Members Posted yesterday at 09:43 AM Hannah had to go (😭) just so that everyone could move on from discussing her every roundtable. As some of the other contestants actually said at the table, they just needed to know one way or another and move on. Kenny's reaction to the other Traitors was hilarious. It'll be interesting to see if his demeanor changes now, because as a Faithful he had absolutely zero heat on him. Quote

Such a genuine moment of wtf/excitement. But yeah, he needs to get his game face on pretty quickly. I think the 'play as a faithful' mindset works pretty well but it's still easy to slip up. Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted yesterday at 11:00 AM Paid Members Posted yesterday at 11:00 AM it always comes down to people never really grasping how to play the game - there was a point on yesterday's episode where Maya said that she was struggling because she was "two down". But for a Traitor at this point in the game, that's completely irrelevant - they get to recruit replacements for those people and literally nobody is raising her name, she's playing an absolute blinder, but she's talking about doing it badly because Richard and Hannah got voted out. I doubt any of the celebrities are going to turn down being recruited, so she can afford to just keep losing a Traitor every week and recruiting a new one and still make it to the end. Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted yesterday at 07:40 PM Paid Members Posted yesterday at 07:40 PM I have a feeling Maya and Kenny will turn on James Acaster now. I would have waited a couple of nights before recruiting and gotten some murdering done. By getting rid of Michael Sheen you'd have been able to remove Joe Lycett. There's no need for a third right now, just get rid of the ones people suspect are traitors by murdering removing the ones who are suspecting them. There's no heat on Maya and James at all. Quote
