Good show, with great action, let down massively by the crap crowd. First time in a while you could really notice how few people were in that massive, dark, empty space. All tight camera angles and forced perspectives again.

The annoying thing is that they actually had over 4000 people there which is good crowd and the base level of what they should be drawing most weeks really but the problem is that they booked a fucking 16,000 seat arena for it. So frustrating! A tight and packed 4000 seater arena would have looked and sounded great!

A perfectly ok show with Ospreay vs Shibata being the highlight. Good to see an Ospreay match here he was a bit reigned in and didn't go for the high spot extravaganza. Shibata is great and should be a full member of Blackpool Combat Club.

I was thinking about Swerve and I think the problem here is that he needs a real heel to play off and win the belt from. Unfortunately the fans love and respect Joe too much so it's taken away the buzz from Swerve's title chase. Swerve winning at Dynasty would be a mistake. He needs to win the title from Hangman. There's no other way to finish this story.

Fantasy booking:

- Hangman stops Swerve from winning at Dynasty.

- A few weeks or at the next PPV fully blown heel Hangman beats Joe for the title.

- Keep Hangman vs Swerve going all summer, including a Team Hangman vs Team Swerve Blood & Guts match.

- Swerve beats Hangman at All In in the main event for the title.

- The following week in the final match at All Out you run Swerve vs Hangman Texas Deathmatch 2 to finish the story for good.

Stu Graysons comeback was a massive waste of time.

Most of them won't be missed as they weren't used anyway, but Dasha seems like a harsh sacking. There since day one and was used fairly regularly.

The Boys being released is weird and makes me wonder where the Dalton/Johnny storyline is going now, as Dalton being reunited with them seemed the obvious endgame.

Dasha was great, hopefully they're not getting that prick Justin Roberts to do double duty going forwards.

Anthony Henry is a very good wrestler but is desperately lacking a gimmick. If he can come up with one I hope they bring him back.

Jose The Assistant is the shits who adds absolutely nothing whatsoever to the acts he's managing so farewell.

Out of the bunch The Boys is the weirdest one. The rest are so insignificant that no one will even notice they're gone.

Anthony Henry is currently out with a broken jaw, pretty shitty sacking someone while injured.

Yes, WWE do that, but this is in relation to AEW releases (Just in before the inevitable).

Which makes the releases seem a bit of a poor move. AEW have always prided themselves on seeing out contracts and not releasing folk and I can't imagine all of those released contracts added together make up much money to counteract say the Moné signing, so seems like a bit of a PR own goal if anything.

If only there was someone they could release from their contract who is paid significantly enough that it'd save the company serious money...

So anyway, what's Jericho up to on Dynamite this week?

At the moment it seems a PR own goal because the comparison being made is to WWE and how they release people. Which is they might have multiple years and get 30/90 days. Its been said they're all free agents with no restrictions. Until we start hearing from the talent how it was handled time will tell.

The first set of mass departures was poorly managed. Janela, Stunt, Angels, Avalon, Evans, Grayson were haphazardly kept in the dark or ghosted until their deals were almost up.

Who the fuck is that? Sounds like a Game of Thrones character.

A Dark semi-regular. Closest thing to something of note was being part of the Andrade/Hardy Family Office. Hasn't done anything since July last year.

Almost funny that the day after CM Punk describes him as being too nice to be a proper boss, Tony goes against everything the company has stood for in terms of seeing contracts through in their entirety, suddenly sacking people out of nowhere.

No more Mr. Nice Guy! He’ll stop hugging people, next! The only plus side is that this might mean he tells Matt Hardy to fuck off.

But yeah. Now Dalton Castle no longer has The Boys and yet again this is ultimately Jack Perry’s fault. Crazy how one dumb remark to camera in a throwaway Pre-Show match has became the ultimate Nexus Event in the Pro-wrestling Cinematic Universe.

Do you mean this isn’t a good look for AEW?  And if so, why?

Any professional wrestler who signs a contract with either WWE or AEW must surely understand that it’s not a permanent job.  If you are a success they will extend and improve your contract.  If not then they will probably let you go at some point.

If young wrestlers were signing up with Uncle Tony thinking it was a job for life that’s naive in the extreme.

There have never been more opportunities for wrestlers than right now.  The worst thing you can do is be vocally upset about it in public where potential future employers can see it.

It feels like it’s not only fans that drank the AEW KoolAid but wrestlers too.

Edit: caveat to this is releasing someone when they’re injured. I guess it’s possible Henry is off the injury list but if not, that does suck.
