Bottle of beer I bought in the local off licence roughly a year ago for £2.39 for 500ml. Was in there a couple of days ago and the same bottle is £3.79 now. Needless to say, the offer shelf was sought out instead. Quote
LCJ Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I hate American politics. I hate all of the celebrity endorsements from woman beating bellends like Dana White and that racist cunt, Hulk Hogan. I hate that racist little shit, Nigel Farage and that brainless Liz Truss and don’t get me started on any other British people who wear MAGA hats (they do exist) and/or support Trump. Shame on you, United States. Quote
Paid Members garynysmon Posted November 6, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 6, 2024 Its hard to play the "We’re all real Americans. It’s time to come together" card when supporters of the other side literally tried to storm the seat of government during the last transition of power. Quote

They've got to be the two orangest men of all time surely. Trump looks a bit Mike Baldwin there. Quote

A racist orange constantly-lying reality TV goblin with dodgy blond hair, a weird obsession with his daughter, a fuck-up of a son, various divorces, sex scandals, who's a friend of Vince McMahon and appeared at Wrestlemania. Paid Members DCW Posted November 6, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 6, 2024 Fierce depressing. Even more so than Trump's first win, because we all know how much worse he is now as opposed to what we knew in 2016. Poor Ukraine are going to be left high and dry too. Ugh. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted November 6, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 6, 2024 For someone more in the know than me, how does this potentially effect Ukraine joining NATO? If USA pulls support, would they bring Ukraine in as a counter-measure? Would Russia pull their troops with the impending threat of an interference from allied countries? Quote

My guess is Trump will aim to do some type of deal with Russia to end the war on the condition that Ukraine won't join NATO. Quote

I'm not sure how a deal like that would work, not to say that isn't what might happen. It would need to be essentially a Russian retreat for Ukraine to go for that, but I don't see Russia accepting what is essentially a defeat in the form of a stalemate just for the unenforcable word Ukraine won't join NATO. This is also taking a huge leap of faith that Donald Trump could negotiate this at all, the guy has mashed potato for brains. Quote

I'm assuming Russia would want Ukraine to cede the territory Russia currently occupies. If the funding and arms stop, which is the lever Trump could/would pull, Ukraine would either have to take that "deal" or go down fighting as the ammo boxes run empty.
