It seems like every few years they go somewhere else. Fox sports net for 2-3 years. 2005-2014 Spike. A year or two of destination america and a couple on pop. Then Anthem took over and moved it to whatever random channels they had. Eventually buying AXS to put it on there. 32 minutes ago, waters44 said: So what’s the UK equivalent of AMC? How high up the TV hierarchy is it? Are we talking ITV? C4? C5? Quest? That’s TV 3? There's not the greatest comp to UK channels. As there aren't a lot that do original programming. AMC has peaked in popularity but can still do alright. It's also its own company so clinging to the cable model as there's more money in it and selling to bigget streamers. Quote

Home of the Walking Dead and Anne Rice adaptations. As well as old more prestige offerings Breaking Bad and Mad Men. Staying on Thursdays going by the debut date. Home to a load of TV shows that were finished years ago. Apt. Quote
Merzbow Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 I do like that AMC is almost the exact same size as the formerly known as Spike TV, both get around 200,000 viewers. TNA will never die but.. growth? Not that either. Quote
Paid Members garynysmon Posted December 2, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted December 2, 2025 You can like TNA or not, but its a big step forward from AXS to AMC. TNA hasn’t been on a US television network this big in 10 years. Quote
BarryOVega Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 If they just have a 2 hour weekly show with no b shows or any shite I’ll probably give them a go, with the NXT link they should have a decent turnover of wrestlers so at least no one should get stale, obviously the risk of WWE nicking all the top stars is there but not like that doesn’t happen anyway Quote
uklaw Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 It’s obviously big news for TNA and hopefully it gets them to reexamine some of their production practices and approach to creative. Production is better but still needs work. I wouldn’t be surprised if they leaned more into WWE in that aspect. Creatively, Delirious and Dreamer need to fix up or be replaced. Some of their instincts are a bit off. And no, I don’t have any alternatives in mind. I touched upon it before but I wonder if the nature and dynamics of this partnership between WWE and TNA will move (and WWE starts dictating structural changes) or if TNA try the leverage any distinction between theirs and WWE’s ownership of AAA? Yeah, I know 😂 Quote

I don’t know why it never lasts for him, but he’s the obvious answer to me, assuming he’s willing to go back. I know he has his own thing going on right now. If nothing else, I hope this gives AEW a boot up the backside and forces them to avoid dragging their heels when plans go awry due to injuries etc. Plus, another place for wrestlers to earn decent money is never going to be a bad thing. Scott was fired after trying to buy the company for $20m. This was to counter the WWE partnership. He won’t be back there unless they sell. Quote

It was Scott D’amore who set the ball rolling on the whole thing with Jordynne Grace entering the R Rumble etc. There had been clashes going back all through 2023, apparently over Anthem being stingy and not investing in production and loosening the wage bill a bit, but WWE was never the issue. I will say that creative took a massive nosedive since D’amore left though. I can’t say I’ve enjoyed the product in 2005 at all. Weird irony that there were more eyeballs on TNA this year and attendance was way up, when product-wise its been at its creative worst since god knows when. I still think it’s some kind of money laundering outfit at this point, I think that deal was more than fair considering it would mostly be the assets as I’m not sure Anthem would necessarily keep them on AXS if they would sell.
