Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted February 9, 2023 Paid Members Share Posted February 9, 2023 Fuck me, on a show where Bunny basically died the worst botch was an MJF promo.
Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted February 9, 2023 Paid Members Share Posted February 9, 2023 MJF has certainly lost momentum. I also think Cody leaving probably hasn't helped as I know they're really close and I don't know who else is batting for him behind the scenes. He certainly could do with some guidance. I don't know if it is her specifically but the AEW women's segments are ratings death in general.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted February 9, 2023 Awards Moderator Share Posted February 9, 2023 Weird episode, but Danielson vs Rush was great. Rush’s best showing in AEW by a long way.
poetofthedeed
I need last night's rush vs Penta and I need it now, just for the bloody face punching including a ripped mask.
Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted February 9, 2023 Paid Members Share Posted February 9, 2023 Also, I've never seen a techie look as terrified to be seen. And I worked in theatre.
Guest
Twitter has been fun at people totally forgetting that heels are usually heels as they aren’t good enough to beat the “better” guys cleanly. The cool heels era ruined that simple and pure storytelling tool, good to see it back with The Gunns
Infinity Land
Apparently RUSH came out during some off-air segments to cut promos to the live crowd. Considering he had a bit of a negative rep before signing he's been a team player, and making the best of whatever he's given.
Tsurutagun
It's still real to them damn it https://twitter.com/WrestleOps/status/1623754457853923328?s=20&t=zVK1c9-iuFLY-uutH3Gokw
Daddymagic
Another crap ep. MJF isn't working as Champion, and that promo was awful, who on earth green lit that? Gunns as tag champs? Ok. Two similar programmes - Garcia running the gauntlet , and Danielson facing selected challengers have been done to death. AEW is so mid and it's annoying with all the talent they have. Paid Members LaGoosh Posted February 10, 2023 Paid Members Share Posted February 10, 2023 Annoying thing about this MJF shit is barely anyone is talking enough about RUSH being absolutely great. Can't stress enough how much potential as a top level psycho heel he has. Hangman vs Rush for the title is where I want this company to be at in 4 months time. Infinity Land
At one point pre-concussion it did look like Hangman v. RUSH was on the cards as it was around the Dark Order/LFI Preston Vance recruitment.
Paid Members Nick James Posted February 10, 2023 Paid Members Share Posted February 10, 2023 RUSH is a genuinely believable nutcase in a similar way to Eddie Kingston in that you wonder is he realises it's a work at times. It makes for fantastic viewing and Andrade must be sat crying into his catering at how much more fun RUSH is to watch.
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted February 10, 2023 Paid Members Share Posted February 10, 2023 (edited) There was a bit during the match where a blood drenched exhausted Danielson was kicking and chopping at Rush and he just stood there no selling the strikes and looking down at Danielson like he was the most pathetic piece of shit he had ever seen. It was awesome. You felt like he would definitely be happy to murder Danielson for that cash. Like you say, he's genuinely believable and scary. Felt like a real coming out party for him. If/when he disappears back into the revolving door booking TK seems to like I will be pretty unhappy about it. CavemanLynn
RUSH is everything Andrade was going for but failing - looking boss in a suit but morphing into a thug when the suit comes off. Maybe he was too handsome or couldn't mask his lackadaisical attitude to work considering all that (Charlotte) Flair money he can fall back on, but Andrade could never match the grubby psychotic charisma that RUSH has naturally in spades.
