They showed a classic match again!

This week it was Danielson vs KENTA from 2006. It was only the second time I'd seen it since first buying the DVD in around 07 as part of my short-lived 'ROH is the best' phase.

What a match! It also featured some genuinely innovative counters/floor-wrestling that I've not seen since, and everything looked just on the right side of being a physical struggle.

These classic matches alone are worth watching ROH for, at the moment. Shame the rest of the show is still just a bland pile of nothing but it is what it is.

I’d not actually realised he was still with the company, has he improved much at all?

I think he's actually regressed, if anything.

During his initial run/feud with Cody I thought he was half-decent and had a lot of potential but obviously still quite green. But all of that potential has vanished, for me.

He's absolutely one of those guys that would benefit from going on an excursion somewhere instead of wrestling once every 2 months on ROH.

If anything, I wouldn't mind him going into commentary full-time. He was really good during his brief Dark commentary run.

Not the kind of excursion you mean, but happened to flick on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins last night and saw he was on there.

At the point I dipped in he was getting chewed out for leaving rest of his team to struggle miles behind as they were carrying a load of heavy gear up a big hill, despite being told specifically not to break up.

What a shame, and I felt similarly about Ogogo on colour commentary, so perhaps that’s the way to go with him. That said, it’s not as if AEW is struggling in that department either with McGuinness, Taz, Menard and Coleman all excellent at what they do.

Ogogo is also on House Of Games this week as well so he's obviously doing the celebrity rounds in case he gets future endeavoured. I think they missed a trick not calling him Einstein Ogogo.

I heard @Carbomb fell asleep before one of his matches but said 'wake me up before Ogogo.'

Athena vs Abadon was a low-key cracker on this week's ep, and once again shows that the AEW/ROH women absolutely love a hardcore match. It's time to get that belt off Athena though, she deserves a run on main AEW after carrying this brand on her back for the last two years.

I'm hoping they do Billie Starkz vs Athena at Final Battle with Billie finally winning the big one - she's always felt horribly miscast to me as a heel but her turning face and dethroning Athena would be a good end-point for this story.

Chris Jericho did a backstage segment on this weeks show and was actually quite good! As it was a Halloween episode he was doing a kind of 'Peter Vincent horror show host' deal and I got a kick out of it.

The rest of the show was the usual ROH nothingness (3 hours of it this week too!) They've been doing the 'Classic Match' thing for 5 weeks now and are already scraping the barrel - Jay Lethal vs Curry Man?! Fucking hell Tone, we haven't even done Danielson vs Marafuji yet!

Worst part of this weeks show was Sammy Guevara's backstage promo. Whatever it was that he once had, he has completely lost it.

Said it before but Harley Cameron is easily of the funniest people going in the biz. Completely aloof to insults, weird tangents, the hard 'H' on her pronunciation of Honor (Honner). Makes me laugh every time. Her greatest sin might be being so good matched with folk like Saraya, she makes them entertaining by proxy.

Saw a few clips from the ROH show at Hammerstein last night. Absolutely heartbroken to see they've got rid of the beautiful gold/brown look of the building and it's now a manky dull grey. Tragic.

Bandido returned (yay) on ROH (boo) to fight Jericho (boo) and seemed to immediately give himself a concussion (boo, but also maybe a concussion is a better outcome than a feud with Jericho).

Danhausen return.

Punk definitely stopped replying to his texts when he started hanging out with the cool kids like Roman and Heyman.

Punk only hangs out with stars, not shite comedy wrestlers.
