That said, being that there is no toasite machine for 1000 miles at least I did try to use the air fryer to make cheese on the other day. Did not work will be using the oven again until thanks to this thread I can buy a proper machine in the UK to bring back.

I always found the single sandwich machines a complete waste of time. If you aren't a lonely old lady you should have at least a double and let's be honest that's only as you can't afford a quad. 

I’ve made both cheese on toast and cheese Toastie  in an airfryer. It’s definitely possible

There's quite a few on Amazon. I was going to post a link but it's not working. 

Been a few years but I used to be able to polish off all 4 in 1 sitting if I tried.

Interesting German fact #334: Your standard German toaster isn't long enough to accept a standard British slice of bread. The Hun will only make a sandwich out of a slice that large. Toast is about the size of a floppy disk here. Cheese on is also completely unknown to these people.

Na. An air fryer is just a convection grill really. Makes total sense if you don’t have a grill or Toastie/ sandwich press. It’s the last resort but better then using an actual toaster. Other acceptable option is stove/hob frying pan combo.

Oh and cheese both inside and on the outside is a must for me.

Maybe i need a new toaster as they come out hot enough to melt some of it but not all. a 10 second blast in the wave and its soaked all the way in.

Are your crumpets still bendy when they come out of the toaster? Because a properly toasted crumpet will melt at least a pound of butter.
