Kamaras-Tash
Had no idea this was last night but saw clips on Twitter earlier, that finish and him having spasms on the floor to come back to life was mental also once that buckle popped the bump looked pretty painful. Not seen it mentioned on here yet and only seen a pic but what happened in the Bliss match? can see a big alka seltzer in her mouth on on a screen grab so guessing she was supposed to be frothing at the mouth? In fact I'm not sure they ever really tried to explain what being "The Boss" was anytime on the main roster. She was just there and we were told she was amazing and that was that. It's frustrating because it's actually something that's incredibly easy to fix. All it takes is a vignette here and there. Doesn't need to be ridiculously in depth but at least it gives more character and more motivation. Nah Cole shouting 'its Boss Time' every time she makes an entrance is clearly enough character development, otherwise they would have thought of something different in what feels like the decade she's been on TV for! In reality that's Charlotte not fucking about with selling Alexa's gimmick. But in kayfabe, how do you explain that? It had some kind of spooky magical powers over everyone else, but when she fights Charlotte it's just a regular doll? Years ago, I heard a story about a rumble match on the indies that had a big dance-off spot where everyone got hypnotised and started dancing. The next person out was Saraya Knight, and she didn't want to do the comedy spot, so instead she just came out, no sold the hypnosis bit and just twatted the guy responsible to end that bit. In her head, that was "I'm not doing this bollocks". But the way commentary and other people on the show sold it was, "what powers does Saraya have that makes her immune to this magic?", so actually made her more of a part of the daft comedy spot than if she'd just taken part like everybody else. I'm reminded of that, because it's the same thing with Charlotte now. If she's capable of saying "fuck off with that daft shit, it's just a doll", does that mean that she's immune to its/Alexa's powers? Or is it just saying, "all of that was silly wrestling TV shit, it's time to get serious", in which case, it's a matter of the old Vince Russo "that bit was fake, but this bit of fake wrestling is real" that has never, ever worked. There was an "exclusive" interview bit after with her saying that she wanted the real Alexa to fight her and destroying the doll was her way to say "you don't need a toy to be a champion"
Paid Members WeeAl Posted October 6, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted October 6, 2021 I'm a bit late to the party, but I watched this earlier this morning and wish I hadn't bothered. I've given up on the weekly shows for a while now, but still try follow the PPV's, though it's taking me longer and longer to get round to them. The booking is shocking. Don't have Balor face Reigns if you don't want to beat him straight up. That finish was a convoluted mess. Also, Bobby Lashley taking the fall in the opener when you have AJ there who could have done it, yet Lashley is getting a title shot the next night? A three year old could tell you that doesn't make any sense. How long is it now that Jeff Hardy's music has been changed? The new one is shite. As always, the commentary and production let the talent down a bucket full. It doesn't matter how good the roster is - the booking (creatively and for consistency), the production, the commentary, the promos, the stories (for lack of a better term) are all horrendous. There are only about three stars. Try as they might, but the folks in the ring aren't fighting an uphill battle; they're trying to pedal a bicycle with square wheels up Everest. I'm not having that Pat McAfee is any good at this either. My ears bled listening to the pair of them. Almost as bad as Mauro Ranallo.

Paid Members Statto Posted October 7, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted October 7, 2021 Jeff himself seems to fucking love No More Words too. I think this is the 3rd time they've gone back to it and he's often enthusiastically singing along.
