Seems the right time to create this thread since we’re only a week away and the card has mostly taken shape. I love the poster. Really encapsulates pro-wrestling in 2021. Imagine seeing this image even a year ago. It’d make your head explode.

It’s a shame that for a company that has three months between pay per views this show somehow still feels thrown together at the last second, but it’s a solid looking card. Definitely deep with stuff I’m interested in. They’ll be hard pressed to top the last pay per view, which is one of my all-time favourites, but there’s a lot of potential here.

I hate the Casino Battle Royale format. I know they’ve attempted to improve it by having individual entrances rather than them coming out together like a bunch of wallys, but it’s still clunky the way five people come out one after the other each time a suit is selected. Just do a Royal Rumble with people coming out individually every sixty seconds. Am I dreaming, or did they do a tag team battle royale last year where teams came out individually like a Royal Rumble, rather than in four separate batches? Anyway, you have to assume Ruby Soho and the Iiconics are likely surprises. Maybe Mickie James? Or CJ Perry? Miro is mentioning his wife a lot these days.

Andrade really needs to deliver. He might be the most disappointing big signing so far. You’d think PAC will get something great out of him but it was only the other week when Kenny Omega couldn’t even get three stars out of him. I’m starting to wonder if Rey Mysterio has fooled us all into thinking Andrade is far better than he actually is.

I love Rey Fenix. It’s gonna be a real shame when he kills himself in that cage match.

It seems this is Jericho’s last match for a while regardless of the result. Heaven knows what shape he’ll return in after going on tour with his shit band. That’s a lot of VIP meals at Wetherspoons.

Paul Wight blocked me on Twitter a few years ago for joking that my cousin’s kids keep their Big Show action figure boxed with zoo animals and dinosaurs. Can someone please Tweet him and let him know that anything less than the World’s Largest Canadian Destroyer in his match with QT will be unacceptable? Thanks.

Kingston won’t win…but imagine if he does? Really hoping for a blistering promo from Eddie on either Wednesday or Friday this coming week. I still think about that Moxley promo all the time.

Kojima was way before my time. Not particularly excited by that at all. Surely this wasn’t always the plan when they were teasing an opponent from New Japan for Mox? Even if Suzuki or Tanahashi aren’t free. Bring Yano in! That’s a rematch I want to see!

It seemed a certainty that they were going to close the show with CM Punk, since that’s obviously the main draw which I suspect will do record business, but then I saw this report, which appears to be from a reputable source.

Holy shit. Talk about capitalising on momentum! Close this show with Bryan coming out to The Final Countdown and we’re off to the races! Boom period confirmed!

I guess what goes on last now depends on what feud they want for Bryan first. Interrupting Omega celebrating a win over Christian would make sense if they weren’t so stubborn about adhering to their ranking system. Can’t really do Omega vs. Danielson right off the bat when you’ve got that pesky system in place. But then, it is Bryan. If anyone was going to go on a tear through the rankings and wrestle everyone on every show in record time it would be Bryan. He’s probably already pitching his matches for Dark and Dark elevation right now.

Or do you go with CM Punk vs. Bryan Danielson for the moniker of Best in the World? It feels like the biggest match they can do but you don’t want it to feel too much like ex-WWE guy vs. ex-WWE guy if you can help it.

Finally, I know it already looks like a stacked show that’s easily going to go four hours, but I’d kill for a segment where the Dark Order all start arguing and fighting, only for Hangman to come back and fix everything. Do we know if he’s had his baby yet? Let’s hope he doesn’t end up looking as rough as Moxley, who seems to have aged ten years since becoming a Dad. Either way though, come on, Hangman. Dark Order need you. A cowboy isn’t too busy to lend a hand to a partner. Not too proud to take one, either!

I mentioned it in the other thread, but Andrade v PAC hinges on whether or not Andrade comes in motivated or not. He’s got a lot to prove in this match, he’s only had 6 matches since last October so I don’t know if he’s nursing injuries or what, but even the ones he’s had seem to have generated very little buzz.

Miro v Kingston has the potential to be an absolutely fantastic scrap

I was thinking they might go with the Bucks losing and then moving onto Punk and Danielson.

You can then have your Omega stuff by doing some trios matches including Hangman which would be pretty cool.

I hope they go fully Rocky time limit draw with Kingston so Miro and him can smash each other up.

You can have Danielson confront omega, doenst mean they wrestle right away. Sets the seeds for him going away to build a record up as a Christian did to then face a few ppvs later

Really could have done without MJF/Jericho 4, would have preferred a final Inner Circle vs Pinnacle match as they are currently 1-1 against eachother.

But apart from that it's a great card with unfortunately a thrown together feel to the build. Punk vs Allin, Kingston vs Miro, Lucha Bros vs the Bucks in a cage and Omega vs Christian are all must see matches but oddly don't feel like it because of the hasty build up. I'm confident it's going to be a cracker.

Though if Andrade doesn't prove himself against Pac they might as well sack him now.

Echo the thoughts on Andrade. I’ve also got no interest in the Lucha Bros partnering with him. Leave Death Triangle alone and announce and Trios Title. Surely they have enough groups to justify such a division.

Looks like I’m off work so might actually be able to watch this live for a change. Can’t stand Sunday PPVs though. Wish they would go back to Saturdays

Personally glad the Pac vs Andrade match is gone because while I’m sure they could put on a good match there’s nothing going on with them. Andrade is overhyped and it’s difficult to get behind Pac who for one reason or another just shows up every now and again for a match then vanishes for ages.

If the rumours about him debuting this weekend are true I would have had Pac issue an open challenge and sent Danielson out to answer it.

given that the reason for the Andrade match being postponed is being given as travel issues, it could easily be Pac that's unavailable rather than Andrade - I don't know if he's still bouncing between the UK and the US, but I assume he is. I know the work visa situation is a bastard at the moment for Brits in the US.

Might be one of them going to the G1 announcement show in Japan Saturday. If that chance has come up it’s a match with no heat to take off the ppv, and new Japan will respect it being sacrificed

It's unfortunate how stop/start things have been for PAC. There's the visa issues, as well as I assume the Covid requirements still in place by the US on UK visitors (maybe a work visa, which is harder to get, circumvents the travel ban or the need to isolate upon re-entering the US?).

Hopefully before long PAC can get some momentum going again. Fingers crossed Andrade isn't still wrestling on the show in some kind of match with nothing going on around it.
