Paid Members gmoney Posted July 29, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted July 29, 2020 The Real McCoy has just gone up on Iplayer. Loved it as a kid, so I'm interested to see if it holds up. The only thing I've seen since then have been a few Felix Dexter sketches, which were still fantastic.
wordsfromlee
Just finished watching the first series of The Tunnel and Clemence Poesy is an absolute dreamboat! Oh yeah, good show too.

I downloaded it from a torrent site, it's an easy watch and very nostalgic.  If you enjoyed the films (admittedly Karate Kid II is shite and I have a soft spot for III) you'll easily enjoy this. Over half way through Season Two now and I can't warm to anything involving Miyagi-Do Karate, everything about it seems so lame, probably not helped by it's two main students (Sam and Robbie) being my two least favourite characters on the show.  Also, Daniel just looks so old when he's called to do anything physical it's bordering on laughable.  It's a different story over at the Cobra Kai Dojo and I kinda just wished we were following the story of Johnny, Kreese and the students at Cobra Kai.  Zabka is the easy star of the show for me.  I really enjoyed the original Cobra Kai reuniting to take the sick Tommy out on the lash for one last time.  I take it Rob Garrison wasn't well in real life as he sadly passed away last year.  Shame they couldn't get Chad McQueen back to reprise Dutch for that episode. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted August 3, 2020 Moderators Share Posted August 3, 2020 Just finished series 1 of Snowpiercer.  Really enjoyable for the most part. Very different from the film, but good in its own way. A few things that were a bit ridiculous but I'll let it off.

I didn't know too many people that watched it. But such a great cast, some genuine laughs and real heart. Especially towards the end of the show. Some of that was too damn emotional. Magnum Milano
I started to binge Mandy by Diane Morgan last night.  Off the back of a successful pilot last year she got herself a series.  Each episode is only fifteen minutes and very funny, although Diane can do no wrong in my eyes.  All episodes up on BBC iplayer now. DavidB6937
Not everyone's cup of tea I know, but finally watched I Will Destroy You and Normal People on iPlayer. Both series genuinely some of the best stuff I've seen all year. Just the right mix of emotions - hard hitting in places, and funny in others. Both I was sad to reach the end of, and that's rare with shows these days.

Mr_Danger
I watched both series of Fleabag this week over two nights and it could very well have entered my bestest shows ever list. It’s outstanding. The stuff with the fourth wall is perhaps the best use of it I’ve ever seen and all the performances are top notch. Obviously Phoebe Waller-Bridge is the top player but she’s so generous with the other characters that they all have loads of room to shine. Andrew Scott shows such leading man quality whilst playing second fiddle, he’s always been great but this is his best so far I think. What a pool of talent BBC have at the moment. Paid Members Nexus Posted August 15, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted August 15, 2020 Chewing Gum on Netflix. It was written by Michaela Coel, who also wrote I Will Destroy You - it's very funny with some occasional poignant moments.  I'm also in the middle of Season 4 of The Expanse - have read the books, and I think they've done a good job at making a sci-fi epic.

wordsfromlee
We got a puppy just over a week ago and I’ve been rewatching Jonathan Creek at bed time every night since. I really hope he doesn’t develop a Pavlovian response to the theme and becomes only able to sleep after hearing ‘Danse Macabre’.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted August 16, 2020 Moderators Share Posted August 16, 2020 How you gonna say a thing like that and not show us a picture of the puppy? Come on!
