Of course they would. At least they'd be meant to be getting booed, unlike when they were fighting Corbin & Lacey. Quote
Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted April 22, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 22, 2025 Tag Team wise I don't think it's the right time to add anyone. Purely as it feels like anyone associated with this group should be chasing titles and there isn't much scope in a heel team chasing New Day (unless it magically brings Big E back to save them and all is forgotten...) If they were to go down the route of adding a team though NXT feels like the way to go. People like Dempsey and the NQCC would struggle to elevate above NXT without a mouth piece, OTM and TNT feel like they could be some added muscle. Even having Nathan Frazier being a student of Seth Rollins could work as he has a very punchable (in a good way) face, but I can't see Axiom being the one he moves with. Having Heyman pop up scouting at NXT tonight would be a good next step but it'll be another interesting watch for sure. Quote
Version1.0 Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 A wildcard but... Lexis King? Pillman Sr. Was in ECW with Heyman. Quote

d-d-d-dAz Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 (edited) The Rock doing a live appearance on the Pat McAfee show today to address Wrestlemania and Raw. Thin skinned dickhead has seen the coverage and is about to meddle isn't he? Still, I hope Pat's alright to host after what happened to him. Oh kayfabe, where for art thou kayfabe? ...he better wear a neck brace. Edited April 22, 2025 by d-d-d-dAz Quote

You've simultaneously undermined the storyline I'm watching and told me the writing is incompetent. Yeh, there's nothing wrong with the documentary series in theory (although it clearly is being made because Triple H doesn't feel like he's getting enough credit for how hard he works). Just don't mention it on Raw or Smackdown (they will though, several times, each week). And yeh, a documentary series about all the backstage work that goes into putting the shows together is great - but there should be a limit and it does feel a bit like "the writer's room" is going over the limit. Like when Cena was on the Pat McAfee show the other day - even though that was recorded at a WWE event, promoted on WWE TV and had a WWE live audience and he was 50/50 in character - he said some things happen on Raw and Smackdown and he won't be talking about them on Pat's show because they belong on Raw and Smackdown. The documentary belongs on Netflix for the hardcore fans as its own seperate thing - keep it away from the actual shows, even if it is just 10 seconds of clips. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted April 22, 2025 Members Posted April 22, 2025 @d-d-d-dAz I mean this sincerely and this comes from a friendly place but your relationship/obsession with The Rock is unhealthy mate. At the moment he is the definition of rent free in your head. Let it go man. Quote

If it makes you feel any better, I don't really think about him outside of this place. This is just the place I bring my wrestling opinions, and my current overriding opinion is he's an arse. Quote

I have to admit that as someone who certainly has more interest in reading about wrestling or learning about the process of putting wrestling together than anything that’s actually being produced nowadays, that I’ll definitely be giving it a whirl. That said, it still belongs in the ‘Things that you know will be shit’ thread. Its bound to be a total half way house hodge podge as they shit themselves of having to draw back the curtain too much. You have to go all in or not at all with something like this really. Edited April 22, 2025 by garynysmon Quote
Paid Members RedTwoster Posted April 22, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 22, 2025 I enjoyed Raw, although I’m less than convinced by the prospect of the Rollins/Heyman partnership. As someone who has generally enjoyed Heyman’s act, I’m feeling pretty fed up of him. He feels a bit stale, although I’m semi-intrigued by the prospect of him managing Becky Lynch if that were to happen. It was nice to see Rusev return, and I’d quite like to see him have a match with Gunther. At times in AEW, he showed how great he could be and I hope he gets a fresh look in the new era of WWE. I’m not entirely sure who, if anyone, is getting called up from the NXT women, but a fresh injection of female talent is just what the roster needed if that’s what’s happening. What’s the point in a brand split, never mind two world titles, if the WWE champion is going to appear on both shows. If you’re going to give Jey Uso the world title, at least present him as a focal point on one of the shows, even if it means having the belts switch show. If you don’t feel like you can do that, either don’t put the title on him, or ditch the World Heavyweight title. I hope they weren’t laying the groundwork for a Sami heel turn there, but we’ll see. I feel like, especially with the Cena stuff and how he's talking about it, we're entering a world where the WHC is very much a secondary title. Almost like you've got the Universal title up top, the WHC a run below that, then the IC and US titles. I know whenever they've had two World titles in the past there's been an obvious 'better' one, but it feels explicit now. Quote

It’s very unfortunate, I feel like Damien Priest did a lot of work to establish the title as meaningful and it’s not carried over to subsequent champions. I’d have expected Gunther to elevate it further given his run with the IC belt, but that obviously didn’t happen and I’m not sure he’s to blame. If they’re going to have the WWE title on both shows, they’re as well as to do away with the WHC, it’s not really needed. Quote

I fully get what your saying but I can give a pass for Cena appearing on Raw this week being the Raw after Mania at all that. If he didn't appear I can guarantee half the people would be asking why Cena wasn't on it It was always going to open the Raw after Mania with the Fallout from the main event of the show I mean we've already had someone question why Cody didn't show up to confront him (maybe he didn't because he is Smackdown contracted.. I know that's not why of course but in theroy you can argue thats why) I believe he isn't scheduled for any more Raws now in the released schedule, just Smackdowns and SNME so Jey will have plenty of time now to sink or swim as the head of the Raw brand Though he is going to be overshadowed by the Rollins/Heyman story so probably won't be vocal point moving forward anyway Quote
