This the only true replacement theory, the destruction of the original Wotsit.

Giant Wotsits, a thing of real joy, are still available in prawn cocktail and "Flamin' Hot" - that being the original Flamin Hot that started life as a Monster Munch exclusive, but the packs bear "sweet and spicy" presumably to distinguish them from this "Extra Flamin Hot" variant they've released in Doritos, Wotsits Crunchy and Max. As if the colour packet didnt give it away.

.... not entirely sure why the ridge cut have come out under the normal Max brand instead of Max Strong. Regardless, seems like they've repurposed a load of surplus seasoning from the discontinued Hot Sauce Blaze.

Just tried these from the shop at the train station on the way home. I love me a mustard crisp and these are very mustardy! The packaging is terrible obviously but I still highly recommend them.PXL_20240603_165334755.thumb.jpg.342085b9595bc2bc41538b58ccdd9f7d.jpg

Dunno if the small bags are similar, but why have Real Crisps made their bigger bags impossible to open by hand? I had to stab my bag of Salted with a key yesterday to get into the fucker.

…. the flavour exists in Walkers Max so you should buy those instead because crinkle is always best.

Are they replacing the original Ham & Mustards? I always had a soft spot for those after the Birmingham riots when Eddie Fitzpatrick the landlord of the Lamp (best Guinness in Birmingham.. Well it's between there and the Spotted Dog) had his pub smashed up and the rioters pushed him down the cellar stairs. A 65 (he's been 65 since I started going there God knows how long ago and still is 65) year old man being thrown down cellar stairs by arseholes, luckily he had the presence of mind to grab a box of crisps as he fell and they broke his fall saving him from at least a broken back if not actual death. The box of crisps that saved his life? Real Ham & Mustard!

Got these recently.

Not bad, either of them. The teriyaki ones tasted like exactly that, strong flavour, but also not too sweet. Good crunch too.

The herb butter ones (for it is they) were very subtle, and whilst I got the flavour from one, I needed a few together to get a really satisfying punch. As a flavour though it really does work; could taste the butter, could taste the herbs (though I couldn't tell you which ones).

Those herb butter ones look like they would be good in a sandwich (I'm currently sat in the gym taking a break between sets whilst I type this).

I had to retrieve the packet from the bin, hence the state of it, but these are immense and make a decent effort to put at least some heat into their product. I got them from Aldi and will be getting more. Top drawer.IMG_2859.thumb.jpeg.5151e412dd8ead87b456e8db23e45b05.jpeg

If you like these mate you'll like Chipoys if you ever see them, particularly the Red Hot flavour.
