Just when you think it can't get any worse for Jeremy Corbyn, it looks as though Labour will probably lose Batley and Spen. Where one of their most popular MPs was murdered.

Amazing.

That's the appeal of Don't Call Him Boris amongst the townswomen's guild. He appears to be a real ladies' man.

The Labour party is dead. Im amazed there are still people who are just coming round to the fact. You'd have thought losing the ex-mining towns & the worst electoral defeat in a century would've been evidence enough?

Unfortunately it's going to take something pretty special to be able to form some kind of cohesive opposition.

Maybe, but the problem is that any successor party (should one form) has the very real problem of figuring out how they represent the left in this latest evolution (or regression, depending on how you look at it) of the political landscape.

Labour's policies were clearly popular in 2017, but not popular enough to get around the Brexit issue in 2019. So how do they, or any left-wing party, put themselves forward in order to both represent the existing left-wing voters, and appeal enough to convert the undecided vote from here on in?

Deconstruct the binary.

'left wing' leave it out along with 'socialism' as descriptive terms.

Tories dont class themselves as the equivalent things on the right or centre right.

It may start to work, and no this doesn't mean sacrifice of values and policies, it removes possible barriers.

That, and well trying to to in fight with everything and everyone for scraps of power and position whilst the things that broadly all in the party are supposed to support get crushed by Tories with a super majority

Finally remove the clause which means Labour has to stand in every seat, ever.

Might work. Might be met with cries of derision.

My parents live in that constituency. My Dad proudly told me the other day that the Conservative candidate knocked on his door, only for my Dad to tell him to jog on because he'd already voted by post for Labour.

Finished? These are are the qualities the nation looks for in a PM. This is a power play!
