Also, it immediately causes enormous issues in Northern Ireland and with the border, and the longer that can be avoided, the better.

A longer extension so that a resolution can be found doesn't just benefit the UK, it benefits the EU as well. it's the best resolution for both sides, plus it gives the British political system a bit more time to make a roaring cunt of themselves.

If anything is to be learned from this sorry carry-on it's that our political class aren't fit for purpose. I wouldn't even waste the shoe leather walking to the polling station for them.
