Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted April 28, 2022 Paid Members Posted April 28, 2022 I like Seth Rollins. Quote

I feel like he's gone through the looking glass and become so unbearable that it adds a bunch of character to a product people frequently bemoan as not having any. Quote

His expression looking at Ezekiel and poking his hair was brilliant. He looks like he's having loads of fun lately. Quote

Maikeru Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 (edited) If you watch an hour of wrestling you have pretty much witnessed everything it has to offer (my wife’s view). I actually understand where she’s coming from. Edited April 29, 2022 by Maikeru Quote

I actually understand where she’s coming from. Ha! I can see why that would be unpopular. The best wrestling has to offer is when stuff gets to build over time to an eventual payoff and how you enjoy watching the final act. Steve Austin’s rivalry with the Rock, from the build to Mania 15, through Rock becoming top star in Stone Colds absence, their interactions when Austin returned up to Mania 17 and even during the Alliance story (especially the go home TV face to face for Survivor Series) and both men returning and building to Mania 19 where Rocky finally catches his white whale in what for 19 years we thought was Steve’s last match. Off the top of my head. Can’t be fully appreciated in an hour even condensed to just the key events. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted April 30, 2022 Paid Members Posted April 30, 2022 One of the little details I loved about that last match was Austin temporarily changing from a middle finger flip to a three-finger one to The Rock every time they faced off leading up to the match. That a normally-inoffensive three fingers could be a bigger insult to him than the bird was a brilliant little addition to a story that would only have been possible with their years of history. THAT was something I’d forgotten, and one of the “little things” I love so about wrestling done well. Scott Hall walking back to the ring with his arms raised in triumph at the sound of the bell, assuming Macho Man had won, during the “That’s not La Parka” angle was another, chico. Quote

IronSheik Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 I always felt Fit Finlay was boring as shit visually, on the mic and work wise and never quite understood where he developed this almost legendary status with fans? His tenure in WWE was a period where I didn't watch much WWE TV, so what did I miss? Or was it another part of his career where he was at his best? Quote
Merzbow Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 Fit was just a solid midcard worker, he had that rare British style mixed in with some snug as hell offence you didn't see much in the US. I didn't catch much of his WWE run either but I remember there being an absolute slugfest with JBL at one of the 'Manias. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 I still struggle a bit with seeing Naomi as better than she's been treated before. A lot of her stuff, while athletic, just doesn't look great. Maybe she'll grow on me this time round but I do think there's a lot better wrestlers out there than her. Quote
