WyattSheepMask
It's awful to think that he's done that within a few hours of being onstage doing what he was so good at. You just don't know what issues people are carrying around with them and seemingly how sound they are mentally. Devastating news considering he seemed to have been sober for quite some time. Paid Members herbie747 Posted May 18, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted May 18, 2017 Yeah, this totally sucks balls. Soundgarden were my favourite band throughout the 90's grunge era. Cornell had some range on him, with power to boot. https://youtu.be/8ChIpzH31gQ EDIT: why won't YouTube videos embed? Badmotorfinger & Superunknown - 2 of the best albums of the 90's And he did write the best Bond song, Keith.
Pier Six Brawler
Weirdly I believe Cornell is only the third Bond theme singer to die, which isn't bad to say the early films are over 50 years old. The other two are Louis Armstrong and Matt Munro who both died decades ago.
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted May 19, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted May 19, 2017 It's weird to think no official James Bond's have passed away yet and it's been like 60 years. It's a toss-up if you include David Niven though.
mikehoncho
Just to get back to being on topic ... Rhodri Morgan, former First Minister of Wales, passed away aged 77 on late on Wednesday night. Hailed as the father of modern Wales, he was hugely respected by politicians & the public at large.
Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted May 19, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted May 19, 2017 Only just found out he hung himself. Fucking Christ, that's awful. Was never a nig SoundGarden fan, but the original Audioslave album always get a play in the car, as does the wonderful cover of Marley's Redemption Song. Paid Members PunkStep Posted May 19, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted May 19, 2017 The original Casino Royale isn't considered an official Bond film as such as it wasn't EON. I believe the learning tree founders here will staunchly disagree, however! Same applies with Never Say Never Again.
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted May 19, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted May 19, 2017 Think they've started gradually putting "Never Say Never Again" in the Bond cannon. Sure the Broccolli family bought the rights to the film a few years ago. Once Connery pops his clogs it'll be in.
SuperJohnny
37 years to the day that Ian Curtis did the same. Anyway grunge as a genre was shit (in my opinion) and I wasn't a fan of his but sad all the same.

There's a bloke on FB called Michael Eden slamming the hell out of Cornell for being part of a genre that "killed MTV & metal music". There are some pricks around, eh?
