WyattSheepMask
Saw both Christopher Robin and Paddington 2 recently (saw the first Paddington a couple of years back. I saw a behind the scenes on Christopher Robin, and it was to see that they used a decent amount of practical effects rather than just going with CGI. Paddington 2 was an absolute joy from start to finish
Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted December 14, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted December 14, 2018 I still say Hugh Grant should have got the nod for best supporting actor at the Oscars last year. The only reason I can think of why he didn't is it came out in January in America. And they didn't turn out for it. Thankfully they were both popular elsewhere in the world
WyattSheepMask
Didn’t come until January and it had to find anew distributor as it was a Weinstein Company property until Warner Bros took it over

Mr_Danger
I know it's basically the same role but Hugh Grant would have made a great Count Olaf. I'm still waiting for his Bond villian too. Has he been a villian in anything else? Seems to have avoided it, other than being the one good thing in those big knicker films.

I read an article recently pushing it to be nominated in several categories including Grant for Supporting Actor. I'm very worried about the fact that Paul King might not direct Paddington 3. He's the only man I trust with that bear.

Factotum
Hugh Grant is great. He got a BAFTA nod for Paddington. I'm glad with Paddington 2 and A Very English Scandal he's starting to get some more recognition. He's always be incredibly watchable and not afraid to take the piss out of himself. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted December 14, 2018 Moderators Share Posted December 14, 2018 He's a very charismatic guy. Even in films that I wouldn't normally care for he can effortlessly elevate them. I sat behind him once at a Stewart Lee show.
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted December 15, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted December 15, 2018 He was a baddie a few times in films before he hit it big with "Four Wedding and a Funeral". You know, those cheap 50p DVD films you see around the place. I think "Train to Hell" might be one.

Keith Houchen
Watched Ant Man and The Wasp. Â Great cast and Paul Rudd is so likeable, but it's shit, even for a Marvel film.
