At least the UK shows will look a million dollars starting on a new network. Is it sustainable for TNA to run 2 UK tours a year giving them say 10 weeks worth of TV?

I’d imagine the cost of two overseas tours a year will far outweigh the pittance they’ll be receiving from a sub-Spike TV station.

If you were going back to bare bones with TNA now you'd look at

January - Genesis

April - Lockdown

June - Slammiversarry

October - Bound For Glory

If you ran Genesis as part of the UK tour and taped 10 weeks of TV too leading you into Lockdown then you run an arena and then a few days of taping in the same arena after (Hammerstein say) to take you into Slammiversarry. Then perhaps run 8 weeks of taping after Slammiversarry and run a month before BFG a set of tapings and promo events in a week. Then do Bound For Glory  and tape TV out for the year.

You run 5 events for TV/PPV all year in decent size arenas and a worldwide tour. If Japan is big enough then do Slammiversarry in Japan as part of the tour too. You can then minimize all your staff down too and therefore become sustainable and can allow house shows etc . . depending on business or for talent to work indies.

Yes, but surely the income from the tour also far outweighs the costs of running them too??

Depends on the arrangement. Eg is a UK promoter buying in the shows for a set price, if yes there may be little room to manoeuvre depending on the terms of the contract.

Nope. Even a WWE TV show isn't profitable without the rights fee. The cost of producing the TV show outweighs the ticket sales. UK shows, purely in terms of ticket sales, would mean losing less money than a US taping, but that's likely not true when you factor in the cost of transporting the wrestlers and production crew over.

Not that it matters a fuck because it's Xplosion, but Xplosion this week had a 3-way of Taryn Terrell vs. Madison Rayne vs. Angelina Love, with special guest ring announcer... Angelina Love.

Angelina announced her two opponents (perfectly normally, no weight jokes, no sarcastic voices, nothing), then she announced herself, then no-one announced the winner because she took the fall.

Because TNA.

Observer reporting that one of the stations they are negotiating with is Destination America, which is owned by Discovery and is a sister channel of Velocity, another station mentioned as a possible for TNA. It's available in about half the homes in the country and seems to be based around reality show/documentaries about BBQs and bacon and hunting and the like. Don't know what kind of ratings it does, but I assume fuck-all as they did a press release boasting enormous % growth recently but didn't actually mention the raw numbers.
