She’s not left my side. Not the she really does anyway, but she’s taking her new role as covid specialist nurse very seriously.

Sapphire put in several shifts nursing me in the week after my operation last month when I was at my poorliest

They just know.  A few years ago when I was out of work and at the lowest ebb I’d ever been, my lad used to just climb on the settee and put his head on my knee.  He knew I needed that more than anything.  We don’t deserve them.

Agreed. When I was riddled with Covid and could barely get out of bed, Clarence wouldn’t leave me. I’d be turning from side to side and each time I did, he’d hop over me so he was nuzzled right next to me. This was every day for over a fortnight, and aside from him eating and going for a shite, he was there every minute.

Bruce just fucked off, mind.

We’re pretty inseparable, but when I’m poorly she bosses me around to rest, go to bed etc. she’s an angel and I don’t know what we would do without her. As I write this she’s snuggled right into my chest in bed ?

A rare moment when Bella was still enough in order to not just be a pile of blurred lines.

We spent the night at the hotel where the other half works, just so we can have a drink and not worry about driving home and a change of scenery. Lilou had the best day, she loves going to his work as they all love her and treat her like royalty. She also loves seeing all the regulars in the bar.

I managed to get a picture of Sapphire where she wasn't on my shoulder. She hopped onto the little stack of drawers and just stared at me while I was playing the XBox the other night.

Loved working from home mainly due to the time spent with my boy.  Slept on my feet for most of the day.  Bliss.

The lads had to get jabbed today and with the office being just up the way from the vets, I brought them in for just the second time.

Last visit they were very curious and wary of the new surroundings. Today’s visit, they couldn’t give a shit and caused murder.

Here’s Claz about 40 seconds before I went on a video meeting with a customer who spends a fortune with me. Thankfully they found it endearing.

Bess's bed has been moved from the hallway to under my office desk. She's very cosy there and it's great having the company through the work day.

Where did you get that dog bed from?

The cushions are all affixed with Velcro so you can take them off and the covers can all be unzipped and machine washed. It's great. At some point though I will upgrade the main cushion by cutting a piece of memory foam to size (it's normal foam and has got pretty flattened now).

I'm visiting my mum, and her labrador's passed away this afternoon. He was fifteen and she'd had him all his life. He'd not been well for a while. I was saying I hoped nothing happened to him while I was looking after the pub for her at the end of the month, and she said she didn't even think he'd be here then. We open the kitchen door and he's laying there motionless on the floor, legs splayed. I tried to give him a bit of fuss to see whether it'd get a reaction, but the old boy's gone.
