NXT - Post NXT Takeover discussion in progress

Disagree with Pitcos on Neville. He's no Tyler Breeze but he's not so disgusting looking that it'll hold him back. His work is too exciting not to get over.

Yeah, the ears is the only thing that I'd call distracting and they can be sorted easily enough by having them pinned back like Gareth Bale did.

I forgot about Stephanie's reaction to the crowd, that was excellent.

Not sure if they have been posted or not, but here are the results of the next four weeks worth of NXT shows.

<-- click on 'spoiler' to show/hide the spoiler

Episode One

Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, and William Regal on commentary.

1. NXT Champion Adrian Neville beat Camacho with the Red Arrow in a non-title match. Renee interviewed Neville in the ring and he said last night was indescribable. He said he's not a prototype. He said he looks like an elf, comes from a place that nobody knows exists, and he has an accent that nobody can understand. He said that you can question all of those things about him, but nobody can question what he does in the ring and the NXT Title proves that. Good promo; he sounded composed and confident.

Bo Dallas interrupted and said he always tells his Bo-lievers to be good sports, but last night was unfair because Neville didn't pin him. He said he was cashing in his rematch soon and reclaiming the NXT Title.

2. Charlotte (w/Sasha Banks) beat Emma with her summersault "cutter". Charlotte feigned a leg injury and then hit her finish on a distracted Emma.

3. Corey Graves beat Yoshi Tatsu by countout. Graves cut a promo on Sami Zayn before the match talking about how Zayn never won but the people still love him. Graves beat the hell out Tatsu after. Graves applied Lucky 13 until Sami Zayn made the save. Zayn said he didn't know they had an issue, but now they do. He said he wanted a match with Graves tonight.

4. Solomon Crowe beat Sylvester Lefort with his back slingshot splash. Fine debut for Crowe (a/k/a Sami Callihan). The crowd was really into him as there are plenty of smart fans here.

5. Sami Zayn beat Corey Graves with a small package. Good match.

Episode Two

Tom Phillips, Tensai, Alex "Adamle Bad" Riley on commentary. Tensai was announced as either Jason or David Albert.

1. NXT Women's Champion Paige beat Sasha Banks (w/Charlotte) in a non-title match with her kneeling cloverleaf chickenwing stretch. Fine match. Charlotte attacked Paige after the match until Natalya's music hit and she made the save.

2. NXT Tag Champions The Ascension beat Travis Tyler and Cal Bishop in a non-title match. The Ascension went over with The Fall of Man.

3. Mason Ryan beat Wesley Blake with the cobra clutch slam.

Before Tyler Breeze and Xavier Woods could start, Alexander Rusev interrupted. Breeze attacked Woods from behind and ducked out of the ring, leaving Woods for Rusev.

4. Alexander Rusev (w/Lana) beat Xavier Woods. Rusev won with the Accolade.

5. Bo Dallas beat Colin Cassady with a double-underhook DDT. This went way longer than it needed to. Not very good.

Episode Three

Tom Phillips was joined once-again by Regal and Saxton at the commentary table.

1. Mojo Rawley beat Bull Dempsey. New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski was in the crowd wearing a Mojo shirt.

2. Adam Rose beat Camacho with his lariat. This new gimmick is fantastic. Rose comes out leading a Village People-esque dance posse and performs a trust fall into their arms from the apron before they body surf him around the ring. The crowd eats it up. Just great. So much fun!

3. Bayley (w/Natalya) beat Sasha Banks (w/Charlotte). Bayley won with a rollup.

4. Sheamus beat Aiden English with the Brouge Kick. Before the match, Sheamus tried to sing a song of his own but English attacked him from behind. The crowd was into Sheamus big-time.

Episode Four

1. Mojo Rawley beat CJ Parker. Parker had a meltdown post-match.

2. Tyler Breeze pinned Xavier Woods. Breeze got the win after the Beauty Shot.

3. Corey Graves forced Yoshi Tatsu to submit to the Lucky 13. Post-match, Graves said that Sami Zayn got the message after last week and said if he's smart he'll stay down.

4. Natalya (w/Bret Hart) beat Charlotte (w/Sasha Banks) by DQ. Sasha interfered for the DQ finish.

5. Adrian Neville beat Bo Dallas to retain the NXT Championship. Neville scored the pinfall after an imploding 450 splash. Very nice match.

With regards to the above spoilers, this weeks episode has Solomon Crowe v Sylvester Lefort removed and replaced with Adam Rose against Wesley Blake. I'm assuming this was taped at another time as Tensai shows up on commentry despite not being there at any other time prior and is gone again at the start of Zayn v Graves

This "Network Era" of NXT is bringing us some sweet entrance themes.

Adam Rose's is obviously spectacular, but Neville, Graves & Paige's new efforts are all tremendous improvements on those they've replaced, both as pieces of music & as far as fitting the character goes.

Wow, I was so caught up in Adam Rose's act that I didn't notice that segment didn't fit with the rest.

I feel really odd, but I actually loved Adrian Neville's promo. Embracing the weird attributes I think is a great fit for him. When he started saying that he didn't look like the prototypical champion I was a bit thrown at first, because normally that line of talking refers to physiques, and although he's short, Neville's got Chris Masters-esque muscle definition, it's crazy. Bringing it around to the accent and the elf appearance made it all work beautifully though, I thought.

First time that I've seen Charlotte properly. Good God, she's tall for a Diva. Naitch is 6'1" and Charlotte seemed to tower over him.

Really enjoyed Corey Graves too. That swagger and his casual lean on the ring were great, as was his strikes and offense. I feel like his wrestling gels with his character so well. After Arrival and now this episode, I think I'm slowly turning into a NXT addict.

EDIT: Forgot to say, they buried the fuck out of Yoshi Tatsu, especially with that promo. I know heels are supposed to say mean things, but it sucks for Yoshi that every single thing Graves said was true. Then Yoshi looked like an idiot for not taking the countout, falling into Graves' trap, and getting zero offense. Future endeavoured maybe? They could have placed any old jobber in that spot.

I'd like to express some love for Devin Taylor.

I expected to hate her, mostly because she's not Renee Young, but she's really grown on me.

She's more of a Maria than a Renee (who, for all her prettiness, smiliness & occasional goofiness whilst presenting, still comes across as a relatively "serious" interviewer - serious enough for the world of WWE, anyway) but she has the same wonderful naturalness in delivering it.

She was quite magnificent in that Adam Rose party skit, played a big part in making it work, for me. Although almost certainly scripted, the "Choo Choo!" at the end of her sign-off was perfect - here's a pretty young journalist sent in to cover the Adam Rose party, within a couple of minutes Rose tells her he's bored of the interview and she should party with him, and by the time she's signing off the report she's totally caught up in it. That's exactly what the Adam Rose character is about, and she really sold it to me.

She has been given the exact same name, down to the spelling, as a Detroit Lions defensive end, but let's not hold that against her.

Incidentally, I love that Adam Rose is being announced as hailing from Musha Cay, which is a private party island in the Bahamas owned by David Copperfield. It's the little things.

In conclusion, Devin Taylor great, Adam Rose moreso.

Not a single person on earth cares about Yoshi Tatsu. Making him look like an idiot is a step up from him sitting at home posting tweets about his figure getting nicked. He's the lowest you can get in WWE. Who else could they have put in that spot? Tatsu has no future in the company. He's not worth protecting.

Agree with Statto on Devin Taylor. She's got personality in abundance. I thought the Neville promo was an odd direction to take with him following his title win. "Look at me ears and that, like. Am a reet ugly cunt ant ah? And a dint nar how to speak." Poor bastard. I'm dreading to think how they'll pick my accent apart when I make my debut on NXT. NXT is probably the one place where winning a title is a hindrance. I means you're probably sticking around in developmental for a while.

Neville's promo made me care loads more about him than I did before. Sometimes acknowledging stuff like that just gets it out the way, like an elephant in the room.

Agree with the points made on Devin Taylor. In that Adam Rose clip she came across as one of those E! type interviewers where they're quite good mates (or act like they are) with the stars, which I thought was quite refreshing. Gives something different. God I'm glad we don't have poxy Jack Korpela and Todd Grisham around these days.

I wouldn't really say that's true, its a case by case basis. Rollins got called up to the main roster three months after winning the NXT title and was still champion for two months after Shield's debut. Big E won the NXT title in the same week that he got called up, and didn't drop it until four or five months later.

The fact all three previous champions have all been called up (Bo Dallas' terrible forgotten thing with Barrett included) must surely go in his favour if anything. WWE don't really seem to mind people pulling double duty, they had/have plenty people appearing on Raw/Smackdown whilst having completely different feuds on NXT at the same time.
