King Pitcos
fitting them into a pre existing timeline to make it work Yes, nobody specified "could/should have been WWF champion in a completely different universe" (which would be pointless) so any title reign we discuss them having has to fit into a pre-existing timeline. That's the difference between the past and the future -- do you not even understand the basic concept of time? We can discuss Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose winning titles in a timeline that doesn't exist yet, because they're active wrestlers coming into their primes. Their potential world titles are in the future. When we discuss old retired wrestlers and times they could have won world titles, that refers to the past. You're like Dougal with the cows. Small... Far away.

Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted October 24, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted October 24, 2014 Pitcos is Jungle Music Priest, Showoff is Dougal. Pat is Father Stone. Why isn't this being discussed in the UKFF Film thread? We'd have a cracking cast for the eventual filming.

Moderators PowerButchi Posted October 24, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) Resorting to lots of name calling? Comparing the fabric and timeline of Bruno's reign to Hogans?  To be honest, he has a point there from 1984-1987. MSG heel of the month, typical New York booking. Hogan, in New York with the way they booked, would have to have the decent sized reign as well, it's just they way it was.  Although, Superstar Billy Graham drew well as a heel champ for the 9 months or whatever he held it, but he spent a lot of time against your Bruno's, Mascaras, and Dusty Rhodes who'd probably have drawn 15,000 to Plas Madoc Leisure Centre in 1977. Which babyfaces could Piper have drawn money against in 1984 other than Hogan and Sarge?  EDIT: And possibly Snuka. Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted October 24, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) Â New avi for Pitcos, please. This is totally the mental image I have for him now. He's had his fun and that's all that matters! Edited October 24, 2014 by Arch Stanton
King Pitcos
I had the quote as my signature a while back. Someone else has already used that as their avatar, though.
Sphinx
Pretty sad that you need to be so hostile in discussing wrestling. You could make the same argument, which are valid points, without being a knob.
King Pitcos
Â I had my fun, and that's all that... Well, you know the rest. I even gave the disclaimer about what I was doing the first time I responded to him.
The Reverend
Â Reading through it at the moment. Surprised at how comprehensive it is, at least in terms of who's included. Did not expect Barry Orton, David Schults or Billy Graham! Â Have you managed to find anyone that isn't included yet? Other than guys that weren't under contract or weren't around at the time of publishing. It's really odd in some respects - they have The Widowmaker included in Barry Windhams bio but then the Stalker separatly and then they have Goldust but no Dustin on his own. Paid Members herbie747 Posted October 28, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted October 28, 2014 Enjoying Jericho's book, but he thinks he's so much smarter than he is. He keeps using words wrong. He doesn't know what irony is; he thought it was ironic that he lost the IC title then the following week won the tag titles, and then when it happened again a few years later it was somehow 'ironic' - eh no, that's not irony, it's a basic pattern. He also thinks modus operandii means 'motive'. And again he uses 'could care less', and 'Vince could give a shit', etc. Â I like getting all the references though because they're either wrestling or music (mostly Iron Maiden, Metallica and Beatles) related. Â I YouTube'd his band a few times, and man they suck. The lyrics are dreadful. Is there anyone who goes to those shows who isn't a wrestling fan? Can't imagine anyone just being a fan of Fozzy. King Pitcos
According to Jericho himself, they're mega popular:   “With Download last year, in England... Twelve o’clock in the afternoon and 30,000 people were there. And the band before us - I swear to God… 500 people were there. And Soundwave this year… We played earlier in the day… In Melbourne there were 8000 people, in Sydney there were 10,000 people. The band after us? 1000 people, 500 people. So we realised we’d become a kind of destination band. People were following us. People were saying, ‘OK, we’re gonna make sure we see Fozzy, we’re gonna make sure we see Bullet For My Valentine, we’re gonna make sure we see Metallica… Those are the bands we want to see for sure.’ And once you start getting people to make those kind of choices, that’s when you know you have something good going on".  But what are the odds on that not being a load of bollocks?  Although saying that, most wrestling fans seem to have no interest in them either. It's only the obsessive Jericho fans that are into Fozzy, and even only half of them -- the other half are the "stop screwing around with your dumb band, come back and save the world title scene" type. So their fanbase must come from somewhere else too...? Edited October 28, 2014 by King Pitcos
