I can't take a screenshot but Cameron, or whoever actually runs his Facebook, posted "The Labour Party is now a threat to our national security, our economic security and your family's security."

I genuinely thought it was a troll account taking the piss but, nope, it's got the wee blue tick next to his name.

It's a bit of a desperate statement considering the uphill battle that Corbyn's got in front of him to turn Labour around. Is Cameron really that worried about facing an opposition Leader with some actual principles? God, I hope so.

With Corbyn in charge of Labour, I feel like I actually have a political party again.

I'm sure this will be the feeling across the country in many homes also.

One thing I hope comes from Corbyn is a swell in younger Labour MPs that are 'left' and not one of those who do degrees then get a job with whatever party will have them.

Centre politics is shite, bring on Socialist tweed wearers for a minimum 5 years.

That tweet from Tories, the first thing it said about Corbyn being a threat to national security was "HE THINKS THE DEARTH OF OBAMA WAS A TRAGEDY". No context, nor the full quote and that sort of shite will rile up the knuckle-dragging types, which is no doubt their full intention. Fucking pillocks.

Corbyn may be a bit to the left from my own political viewpoints, but let's see how he actually performs and acts as Labour leader first before proper judgement of his capabilities can be made. This idea now that with Corbyn in charge that Labour are "...now a threat to our national security, our economic security and your family's security" is something I'd expect from the clown car looney tunes tea-party wings of the US Republican party, not the Tories.

I seriously may have to remove myself from political Twitter. It's vicious. And right now it's even worse than usual. People screaming that Corbyn hasn't appointed enough women to his shadow cabinet or enough women in the top jobs. John Lister pointed out that a whole load of qualified women refused to serve. He seems to be the only one doing so. Journalists from every single outlet, of every single political bent seem to hate Corbyn.

Well that was a mistake. Somebody who has the Twitter name Andy Burnham but isn't actually Andy Burnham retweeted it and added a comment. Then an actual genuine Labour female MP took issue with not-Andy-Burnham's comment. Then non-Andy-Burnham replied. And now my replies thread has exploded.

The level of hate he's getting is frightening. I know the press are generally quite scummy, but this feels like a new level of vitriol. And why? Because he has an issue with inequality? Because he wants to tax the rich more? Because he's against nuclear weapons? The one man who deserves this level of scrutiny, and to an extent, the level of hysteria, is David Fucking Cameron and his attempt to privatise Britain into oblivion, yet the press let him get on with it. Fuck the lot of them.

As a righty I do disagree with a lot of his political stances, but thats how it works.

The issue is mainly with the man himself, he's so far left its actually scary, plus he seems like a bit of a nob.

Which is required in politics I suppose.

Plus he's one of those lot with pens in his shirt pocket, can't trust him.

If the last 48 hours are anything to go by the next 5 years are going to be fucking tedious. Politics is frustrating enough because about 90% of it is propaganda from the uneducated. Now it's even more divisive, even more OTT, more bullshit and more scare-mongering. My Twitter will be getting cleansed of some people I like unfortunately.

We knew this was coming. Supporters of Corbyn & the likes of Owen Jones said numerous times that should he win we’ll see a media campaign against him like no other. It was to be expected when JC was talking about cracking down on tax, against monopolies in news media etc. He’d laid out his cards & there was no way he was going to cosy up to the likes of Murdoch (ala Blair and to an extent Miliband) & this is the result.

The problem the papers have got is that during the leadership campaign Corbyn gained momentum & support through not responding to tabloid slurs, he refused to react to personal attacks & stuck firmly to matters of policy and answering questions directly. As long as the Great British press don’t force him into snapping & saying something silly then I think he’ll be just fine keeping on what he’s doing.
