What have you been watching on (proper scripted) telly?

How have I only just seen Children's Hospital. It's fantastic. Funny as fuckery.

It's mentioned ages back in this thread so you only have yourself to blame. It's great isn't it? It gets even better when Malin Akerman and Henry Winkler join the cast in season 2.

Henry Winkler is on Saturday Kitchen now, the host asked him what he's up to and he said he's in a show called Children's Hospital and "Don't tell anyone but I don't understand the comedy". The thought of old Fonzie being confused and not getting it on the set of Children's Hospital makes it even funnier.

Anyone see this weeks Hannibal? It was bloody amazing. I nearly threw up during the end scene though. Michael Pitt has been a wonderful edition to the show (and on a side note would make a great Joker if they ever need one in the next Batman movie).

Fucking hell, I can't believe a network show had someone feeding their own face to a dog and eating their own nose. I was biting my knuckles to stop myself screaming.

Hannibal is amazing. It's filled with stuff I can't believe is happening on a network show, and not just the violence, but the sheer amount of time devoted to trippy, baroque weirdness and the homoerotic psychosexual dance between Will and Hannibal.

From Dusk Till Dawn on the other hand, really went on a gigantic quality slide. Forget all the positive stuff I said earlier in this thread, as the last couple of episodes have turned it into a completely unwatchable mess. To drag out time before next week's finale, this week's episode had

a casino heist that happened entirely in the minds of the Gecko brothers, as a test in the form of a vampire-induced hallucination. It was really, really shit. Plus they're clearly not going to kill any of the characters that died in the movie, so almost everyone is a vampire now already.

Has anyone been following American Horror Story? I've just finished season one and I've found it a bit hit and miss. I think it's pretty fun when the episodes are more or less self contained but the over arching plot was awful and it turned in to So Haunt Me in the last couple of episodes. Hard to believe Dylan McDermott is in his 50's as well.

Is Season 2 any better or much of the same? I'll probably give it a few episodes to convince me either way.

Season 2 is brilliant.

I'm glad you've said that because in the last week I've stalled at S01E10, 2 shy of the finale. It's a shitty Beetlejuice right now, with no Tally Me Banana. I'm off to watch the last two.

Season One peaks at a level of "not wank," and then sinks to "wank" quickly. Jessica Lange is blinding, though.

Season Two, however, is absolutely fantastic. Most of the cast is excellent, and the whole thing is wonderful.

Season Three is somewhere in between. It's definitely mental, though.

Nothing to do with anything really, but my mate (and former next door neighbour) Darren Faulds is in this. All over it to be frank. It's a documentary called "Commonwealth City" about Glasgow. I've given you an IPlayer link. Swearing all over the place. So NSFW.

I've recently worked my way through all three seasons (a late catch up from the top Drama thread a while back) of AHS and it's a belter of a series it has to be said.

I really liked the first season, but I watched it all back-to-back in one fell swoop. It was tarnished incredibly by how shit the main family were, and it did wane into Rentaghost territory.

Second season was wonderful start to finish, especially the Ian McShane involvement, really hope they bring him back for the 4th. The tie ups at the end were great too. Dominique is now my ringtone and will forever be.

Third season was also great, and Kathy Bates stole the show for me. Lt Daniels out doing Noel Fielding as the Spirit of Jazz was worth it too.

I'm eagerly awaiting Season 4, the line 'most evil clown ever' has me hoping many surreal creepy things can happen, I just want McShane back for more goodness, hopefully as Lange's hubby co-owner of the freak show, who maybe likes to paint up all clown like to breed with the Freaks to continue their business. That'll do me for a start.

So, for the past couple of days I've been watching Peter Engel production Hang Time. Well, I say Engel production, but he didn't actually produce the first season. Although when he is the producer you can definitely see his influence. Anthony Anderson off The Shield fame comes on board and is about 30 playing a 16 year old, and two female cast members where apparently in this high school for six fucking years. Out of those two it suffers from The New Class syndrome of changing about 80% of the cast every season. There's also a crossover with SBTB The New Class with a few Screech appearances.

It's watchable for the first three seasons but there's a massive drop off when Anthony Anderson and Reggie Theus leave between S3 and 4. Theus being replaced as coach by NFL legend Dick Butkus. Don't know why.

Bit of trivia. The coach in it, Reggie Theus, later went on to be the head coach of Sacramento in the NBA. Him, Butkus and Anderson are the only people off it to really do anything unless you count Robert Michael Ryan off S1 going on to play Marshall's brother Marvin Jr in How I Met Your Mother.

Brooklyn 9 9 is really funny and I don't think it has been talked about in this thread. Andy Samberg, Chelsea perretti, Terry crews and the police captain who I don't know his name but you definitely will know him are all recognisable stars in this laugh a minute cop sitcom.
