RedTwoster Posted September 13 Posted September 13 (edited) What do you reckon the best ‘regular’ entrance is in wrestling? When I say regular, I mean week-to-week. Not your Ospreay All In or Hangman Dark Order entrances. Not the best entrance music - although that’ll no doubt play a part in your selection. And the reason I’ve asked this question is because of these guys… Honestly, for me it doesn’t get any better than that, they just piss coolness every time they make their way to the ring. So who is has the best regular/standard ring entrance for you? Edited September 13 by RedTwoster Quote
DavidB6937 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Now or ever? Because: Probably pushing the 'regular' entrance boundary a little but fuck me that shit was just cool as. Quote
Chili Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Roman Reigns because I can put dinner on, take the bins out, take a shower, call me Mum and do the dishes and miss nothing. Quote
Paid Members Kamran Posted September 13 Paid Members Posted September 13 (edited) If we are looking into the past, a few more notable entrances... MNM: Goldust: The Brood: Edited September 13 by Kamran Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted September 13 Paid Members Posted September 13 NWO Hogan with the NWO theme and latterly Voodoo Chile doing his Papa Lazarou walk is pretty incredible every time. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted September 13 Paid Members Posted September 13 Was gonna mention The Brood/Gangrel myself. Incredible combination of banging tune, ominous red lighting, the fire, the rising up ‘from hell’ I guess through the ramp and the look and gimmick of the guys themselves. Perfect for the time as well. Gotta throw Rick Rude in there. The music was always great for the gimmick, whether it was the classic WWF one, the Janet Jackson ‘Black Cat’ ripoff when he first came to WCW or the ‘Simply Ravishing’ theme. The pure sleaze of the man. The robes. The whole “What I’d like to have right now…” bit. Top tier dickhead heel entrance. Match itself here isn’t worth a shite, just turn it off after Rick’s ravishing but rude entrance. Even cuts Buffer off in this one… Quote
Chico Torres Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Full agreement on the Ravishing One as well as both face and heel Hulkster. And fully endorsing Razor Ramon with that music and oozing machismo. Arn Anderson looking like he’s just finished a hard shift, walking to the ring while eloquently narrating how he will destroy his opponent directly to the camera and then doing the cut throat gesture. Sid obviously, and more specifically early 90s WCW Sid. Infinite aura. NWA era Road Warriors rushing to the ring to Iron Man, shedding the black spike shoulder pads and murdering opponents. Ultimate Warrior for the pure energy and chaos. Rock n Roll Express circa 1984-86, as soon as Rock n Roll is King music hits the sound of screaming girls is deafening. Shout out also to The Fantastics coming out to Sharp Dressed Man and making sure every lady in the front row got a hug and kiss. When AAA was on fire in 1993-95 they had incredible entrances as a regular part of every show. The OG La Parka’s entrance to Thriller with zombie girls and dancing was amazing. The Von Erichs but especially Kerry at the height of World Class, fighting their way through the women in the crowd and full on making out with a lucky fan along the way. And their eternal enemies The Freebirds, as soon as that famous first bar hit and out would come Michael Hayes as the most charismatic preacher leading his congregation. Our Earthquake for the way they would film him from a lower angle and from the back to emphasize his fatness. Ric Flair at the height of his powers. Jerry Lawler at the Mid South Coliseum. Last but definitely not least Jacques Rougeau in any incarnation, whether wearing a cape and mockingly waving a little flag, or singing I’m the Mountie or Not the Mounties, just a complete prick. Many more of course but that’s who come to mind right now. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted September 13 Paid Members Posted September 13 For me, the original Y2J entrance was one of the best ever regular ones (for some reason cannot find an example of his original one aside from the debut which is atypical): And MVP's one was brilliant, too - told you everything about the character before he even appeared: Quote
Snitsky's back acne Posted September 13 Posted September 13 The Undertaker 1991. Obviously his later entrances with the lights going out etc were even better but there was something about the stripped back version that makes it more eerie for me - the way it is shot too. You see him walk into frame from the left, then the long shot with him slowly walking towards you, then the low shot looking up into his face, the cutaways to scared or enthralled kids in the crowd. Perfect example of TV production enhancing his aura. It made him all the more intimidating. Quote
Joe Blog Posted September 13 Posted September 13 Hardy Boyz was always a great entrance. High energy and great music combo. Quote
Paid Members garynysmon Posted September 13 Paid Members Posted September 13 Enough said. A bit out there, but always got a kick out of Sonny Onno inventing selfies in the late 1990's! Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted September 13 Paid Members Posted September 13 (edited) Astonished I’m the first one to mention Stone Cold Steve Austin. No lights. No pyro. No lasers or fire. Just some glass smashing, the loudest pop you’ve ever heard, and then Steve marches to the ring with the intensity and magnetism of a million men. All whilst Jim Ross inevitably shits himself with excitement. It’s the best. Every single time. It was one of my biggest takeaways when I rewatched all the In Your House events. Stone Cold was another fucking level. He didn’t create the boom. He was the boom. The biggest, most authentic star, with the most electric entrance, all whilst doing absolutely fuck all. Just walking out and posing on all four corners, whilst a million flashbulbs go off. That’s it. It’s the antithesis of what they teach people today. He doesn’t hit any marks. He doesn’t do any fancy tricks. He just walks out and it’s pandemonium. I think he’s going places, this Stone Cold guy. Definitely one to watch. Edited September 13 by Supremo Quote
