Gooner Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I was hoping to hear he got choked out, tapped for his life begging for mercy or that got rendered unconscious. This finish, however, is fantastic and added bonus some of his biggest fans seem to have seen the light about who he is deep down inside, finally. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted July 12 Author Paid Members Posted July 12 What a glorious day. Sun’s out but there’s actually some breeze. England through to the World Cup semis. McGregor’s comeback and knee in tatters. Only realised after watching his knee go out for about the 59th time that this was his other leg as well. His good leg. It was the left leg that got injured against Poirier in 2021. Now the right knee is busted to shit. Tremendous. Like an old toy where all the action features don’t work anymore. I loved this. I’d have preferred Max to get a proper win so that McGregor himself, the pro McGregor MMA media and his fans would have no excuses to latch onto. But in a way this was even better. It was definitely the funniest outcome. I’ve never been so entertained by a fight being a total anti-climax. For one, this pretty much proves beyond any doubt that he’s shot to bits physically so the chances of him making any kind of successful comeback at this point are slim. He’s not gonna be back quickly from this, if at all. He turns 38 this week. Very unlikely he fights again until he’s 39/40 at the earliest now. If he even decides to fight on. So that last fight on his UFC contract is gonna take even longer to do now. By the time he finally gets out of that deal, what’s even gonna be left? That obviously won’t stop Netflix forking out mega bucks for him. They’ve had geriatric Mike Tyson and a Gina Carano coming off a 17 year old layoff and 100lb weight loss on there. They don’t care if you’re a cripple as long as you’ve got a name. But this vision he seemed to have of promoting himself outside the UFC, making even bigger money and just beating up old has-beens doesn’t look so easy now. He’s now got to look in the mirror and realise he’s also one of those has-beens. 1 hour ago, Gooner said: This finish, however, is fantastic and added bonus some of his biggest fans seem to have seen the light about who he is deep down inside, finally. Who’s this referring to? Most of the shit I’ve seen from his fans are doing exactly what you’d think they’d do and using his age/layoff as an excuse and a coping mechanism, despite dismissing all that going in. I definitely don’t think anyone on here has ‘seen the light’ based off this particular outcome. I think the people on here who were once fans of him wised up a long time ago. If there are any McGregor fans left on here, they’re very quiet about it. And so they should be. He’s got zero redeeming qualities whatsoever in 2026. Hasn’t had any since about 2018 if we’re being honest. Quote
Paid Members John Matrix Posted July 12 Paid Members Posted July 12 On a purely personal note, one sobering thought that stuck out to me whilst catching up on the fight this morning, is that I first started watching the UFC in around 2006 maybe? So I saw Liddell’s wins over Babalu (Bravosmen) and Tito complete with the Rogan/Golberg soundtrack of hyperbole, the GOAT claims etc - of course shortly after he’d go on to lose five of his next six, four by knockout. What’s your fucking point? And get to it pronto! I hear you… Well, just that whilst I joined at the end of Liddell’s run, this feels like the first I’ve witnessed from start to finish, from the shining light of the prelims, to the champ champ run, to whatever the mess it is that McGregor is now. If anything, the brilliance of watching a coke-head, pensioner beating rapist quite literally fall to pieces in front of our eyes, has only served as a timely reminder of my own physical decline. (I fed the ducks yesterday, today my shoulder hurts). I feel very fucking old. That’s the point. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted July 12 Author Paid Members Posted July 12 “The devil is literally staring at me in front of my face here”. Yeah, that’s what’s known as a mirror dickhead. On a serious note, I hope he’s kept the fuck away from women for a bit. Well, in general really but especially in the immediate aftermath of all this. The track record of this scumbag shows the worst shit he does usually comes after things go bad for him in the cage. Him already using phrases like “I am beyond dark here” and “the devil is staring at me” is very disturbing coming from an actual rapist. Quote
Dai Posted July 12 Posted July 12 (edited) Strong disagree Wand, on this maybe even being better than Max destroying him. This is actually no loss at all, unfortunately, for McGregor, which is a massive shame. He can now spend the next year being the same smug dickhead that he was in the build up to this. More thoughts later, but a few quick things: - Think it was you, Wand, who did the Bruce Buffer warming up gif a few weeks back. The knob head was at it again here. Can you gif him warming up, when the camera did a long shot of the octagon during Conors entrance? Proper knob head! - I rolled my eyes at least five times during the prelims because of the takes Rogan/DC had. Must be osmosis, as I now class DC as almost as bad as Rogan. He's turned absolutely shite the last few years. Must be just phoning it in. - I love its 2026 and UFC have introduced some extremely lame smoke machines, straight from the Warriors 98 Wcw run. I thought the same earlier, but then had the realisation that however Max beat him, he wouldn't change at all. He will always have a million excuses, to just bullshit himself and his fans and be the same dickhead. This way, the fucking prick will be hobbling around on another bum knee for the next 12 months rehabbing it, and as Wand says it just wastes more and more of his time locked to a UFC contract. If he has another cancelled fight like the Chandler one through injury, then we could be three to four years of him waiting to do his last flight. I usually hate the UFC fucking fighters about on their way out, but I am going to enjoy this. Edited July 12 by Cousin Jim Bob Quote
Dai Posted July 12 Posted July 12 True, they are some good points for sure. But had Max done what we all predicted he would do, then people would be posting pictures of Conor looking similar to that of Paddy in the original post, which would have surely been a far bigger victory. Quote
Moderators neil Posted July 12 Moderators Posted July 12 His fans are already saying that he "clearly" hurt the knee in warmups and what a brave little boy he is for going out there still. This Doctor on youtube has a great breakdown of it. It obviously happened in the ring...mainly because compared to the warm ups he goes much further when jumping and lands far more on an outstretched angled with planted foot and forward body momentum that tore that knee to shreds. d-d-d-dAz Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I'm on the side of this being funnier and worst. There's a nobility and respect in getting battered as an older athlete. Always has been. If Max stoves his head in, he can just default to the 'fighting man' bollocks, and how his heart never left him. This is better, because once again he looks silly. And egotistical tosspots hate looking silly more than anything. Just a silly little man with silly little glass legs and a pouty face. Hilarious. Quote

If McGregor had hurt his knee in the warm-up's, the last thing he'd do is come out and throw a kick like that. I did think Conor looked off pre-fight but that may be a case of looking too much into it, but I think the injury happened during that opening exchange. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted July 12 Paid Members Posted July 12 Cocaine reportedly degrades bone density and muscle tissue, whilst anabolic steroids notoriously increase the risk of tendon and muscle tears. The man essentially went on a five year pilgrimage to turn his legs into a pair of Cadbury’s Flakes. Jake Paul would beat him now, wouldn’t he? Quote

Jake Paul's mom would beat him a this point and I am all for that fight. I hope McGregor disappears and we never see him again but we all know that aint going to happen sadly. Quote
Browser Brady Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I am guessing it will come out that he was injured in the days prior. I imagine the only thing he may be fit for id a Mayweather re-match next summer. Quote
NeverYield Posted July 13 Posted July 13 I'm always one to take note of peoples opinions on how they read fighters in the weeks prior to a fight and I saw lots of comments along the lines of "connor doesn't look right", particularly in that video that was posted on this thread where I said "he was swimming in that outfit", he did have a bit of a forlorn look about him. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, at the time I just thought he's been out five years, it's going to feel somewhat alien to him again, but looking back I think there is plenty of signs there that something wasn't right, whether it was a full blown injury who knows, wouldln't suprise me, but something wasn't right. Ironic Indie Lad Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Hilarious outcome. Genuinely laugh out loud funny. Another reminder (as if I needed it) that you cant be a dad pushing 40 and try do something explosive and athletic. You will destroy your back or your knees! Lot of people are idiots with short memories who are willing to be worked into a frenzy with a good hype job though. There's every chance he does another comeback in a couple of years and I have to listen to morons going "he still has that left hand tho m8" Quote
