Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted July 15 Author Paid Members Posted July 15 Oh yeah, we’ve gotta mention this. The UFC production crew with another bad cock up when Shakur Stevenson was shown on screen. NBA player apparently 🤣 Zuffa Boxing’s new signing and the wallies in the UFC production truck somehow royally ballsed up the on screen graphic. Dana had a right moan about it to the media after the show and for once everything he said was spot on. Not the first time this has happened either, remember when they showed Terence Crawford and someone in the truck thought he was Kendrick Lamar? Honestly feels a bit racist. Why does it only seem to happen to black boxers? Quote
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted July 15 Paid Members Posted July 15 Yeah, Dana was well within his rights to kick off about that😄 Quote

And I might be going mad but was it just me who felt like he even got the bigger superstar reaction for his walkout than McGregor did in the main event? From what I've read, the atmosphere in the crowd was muted when compared to the events that featured McGregor in his heyday. With McGregor's trademark passionate Irish following mostly absent from the event. Granted, a lot of people are still interested in McGregor, which makes him still somewhat of a drawing card. The show at the weekend apparently drew a massive live gate, and seemingly received more attention on social media (including this forum) than almost any other UFC event in recent memory. If McGregor fights again, whether for the UFC or in some daft novelty fight with Netflix, I don't doubt those fights will do serious business too. However, his fanbase nowadays seems to chiefly come from outside of Ireland, and mostly exists online from what I can tell. I've read/heard numerous times that he's almost universally despised in Ireland nowadays (rightfully so). Given this, I'm not surprised that Pimblett received a bigger pop from the live crowd. I can't say that I'm bothered by that. Pimblett isn't my cup of tea at all, but he's the Easter Bunny when compared to McGregor. Edited July 15 by jimufctna24 Quote

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted July 17 Author Paid Members Posted July 17 He’s been on a tweet and delete spree over the last day or so. Caught some of it and the gist of it all seems to be even he is rubbishing the theories that he was injured before the fight. He also said his next fight (whenever that would be) “has to be Max Holloway”. On 7/12/2026 at 7:36 PM, Dai said: - Think it was you, Wand, who did the Bruce Buffer warming up gif a few weeks back. The knob head was at it again here. Can you gif him warming up, when the camera did a long shot of the octagon during Conors entrance? Proper knob head! You mean this of him doing his little jumping on the spot bit? 🤣 Quote
Paid Members JNLister Posted July 21 Paid Members Posted July 21 Given McGregor doesn't really seem big enough for welterweight, how about him against Paddy Pimlett? Seems like the best choice for somebody to have a big win that raises their perceived standing with the casual audience. Quote
NeverYield Posted July 21 Posted July 21 I'd definitely be interested in a fight between those two. I'd obviously go with Paddy should they fight anytime soon, given the inactivity and decline of Conor, and the fact Paddy is in prime years, you'd struggle to see past it being anything but a nightmare for McGregor. Dai Posted July 21 Posted July 21 (edited) Thanks for the gif Wand. What a pleb Paddy is huge, so McGregor isnt even taking that fight at Welterweight. He knew for a fact that he would have the size edge on Max, which likely played a massive part in selecting him for his return. Even at 170, and with a good few months to prepare, theb Paddy would probably end up being bigger than Conor, so there's no way hes going for that. Edited July 21 by Dai Quote
