I suppose it depends on what people view as in-ring work, I think Hogan was actually pretty good in ring, the storytelling element of it and drawing the crowd in, it was formulaic as fuck but so was Ric Flair's act.

Hogan was indeed involved in some very good bouts.

I especially enjoyed his Desert Storm series with Slaughter in 91, the cage match with Boss Man in 89, and some of his matches with Savage from the mid 80s. The Wrestlemania match with Rock holds up well too. His bouts with Backlund in the early 80s are also very good Backlund matches, and nothing like the formula that Hogan fine-tuned as a face later in the decade.

Prowrestlingonly is the greatest wrestling site on the interenet

Think you're forgetting about this place: ukff.com

Prowrestlingonly is the greatest wrestling site on the interenet. At least it used to be. The last GWE list (2016) seemed to wipe out all the old regulars and it's been in a steep decline since.

It's awesome for match recommendations if you want to do a deep dive on a certain wrestler, and some of the discussions in the archive are fun to read with the likes of JDW, Bix and GoodHelmet (none of which seem to post anymore).

But yeah, it's mostly a wasteland nowadays sadly.

This place seems to be an outlier of the modern internet, I rarely if ever come across a forum so active that's not a subreddit or anything. The last bastion of Web 1.0.

In terms of English speaking wrestling forums, I think its just here, DVDVR and Pro Wrestling Only that are still active.

Still loads of very popular forums on other subjects though. I use video games forums rllmuk and Resetera and both are very busy. Pretty much every English football team has an active one and the likes of Liverpool have huge ones.

Wrestling Forum is still very active but get's a bit wild on there 🤣

Wrestle Figs forum is still reasonably active as well. This is the best one though.

Definitely still some popular forums about despite today's social media age, there's some good boxing and general sports ones, gym ones.

Freakin' Awesome still looks pretty populated actually, but yeah I'd imagine there's some truly niche forums still hanging on too. Apparently Something Awful still has nearly 3000 members online right now.. could have sworn that place died off years ago.

The fact Charles prefers to push people to his discord in his newsletter rather PWO says it all. Although in saying that, it's probably had more activity there these past couple of months than the past few years combined. I imagine it will now revert back to how it was pre-GWE, slowly dying a death while the fantasy booking threads provide the bulk of the activity, el-p contiues to be incredibly annoying and condescending thinks-he-knows-it-all David Mantell talks to himself.
