Honestly bordering on harassment now. They've shoved him on THREE versions of the cover! Why can't they leave him alone?!

There better be a mode where you can drive a tank to WCW.

Should put Angle on the bottom row and you basically have the WWE vs TNA Monday night squash

I'd be up for a modern day Attitude era game but only if it was the horrible bits and didn't let you play the good stuff - Road Warrior Hawk falling off the tintantron drunk, Beaver Cleavage, Tiger Ali Singh paying fans to kiss his feet, Godfather calling Steven Regal a fag, Ivory vs Mae Young matches, Meat, Triple H being racist to random people on the street, Undertaker setting Vince McMahon's childhood teddy bear on fire, Undertaker trying to embalm Austin alive but ending up getting thrown down a sewer, Naked Mideon. I'd play all that stuff in a game if I could.

You could just play WWE 13, 2K14, 16, 22 or 24.

I could if I owned a console.

Last game I played was SD vs RAW 2007 and haven't had a PlayStation since

given the last game had - once you factored in DLC - Booker T, The New Age Outlaws, Bret Hart, British Bulldog, the Dudleys, Cactus Jack, Mankind, Dude Love, Mick Foley, Chyna, DDP, Eddie Guerrero, Eric Bischoff, Faarooq, Goldberg, The Headbangers, Hollywood Hogan, Kane, Ken Shamrock, Kevin Nash, Kurt Angle, Lex Luger, Randy Savage, Lita, Mark Henry, The Steiners, Rocky Maivia, Scott Hall, Shawn Michaels, Sid, Steve Austin, Syxx, Terry Funk, The Rock, Triple H, Trish Stratus, The Undertaker, Vader and X-Pac in it, how does an "Attitude Era" or "Monday Night Wars" edition even offer anything new anyway?

If they can figure out how to do an ‘…On A Pole Match’ I reckon that would take care of most of the era.

Still waiting on a Hog Pen Match option myself

I do enjoy the 2K games, but there’s nothing appealing about yet another Attitude Era themed game. You’re literally signposting that the same retro characters that are in this game every year are still in this game, and nothing more. I get that it’s hard to innovate on something that releases annually, but maybe they’re better off to keep a single iteration going for longer, releasing character packs and new modes as things you can purchase, essentially Fortnite-ing it. Obviously they do this to an extent anyway, but the existing model is what led to the disaster that was 2K20. They need to change things up, I think.

Just make All Stars 2, and make me and nobody else happy.

Nope I’m with you there. Battleground was alright, but I thought All Stars was a lot of fun and much better game

Who actually buys 2K every year? Even if some do, who's paying full whack for it? How much does the roster and the arenas change? I imagine some would happily buy a new arena pack anyway. Surely a 2K game every other year, and a more cartoony game the other year.

I’m assuming it’s like FIFA/EA Sports FC in that it’ll be an annual purchase for enough people to make it worthwhile, even though the roster updates are typically insignificant.

The fact that you’re potentially paying well over £100 for some versions of this game is crazy, particularly if it’s simply to get new versions of wrestlers who have appeared in the base version of this game for years now.

The roster is always out of date when it’s released anyway. 2K25 had Authors of Pain who were long gone by release I think.

I’m still occasionally playing 2K23. The CAWs I downloaded look better than some of the actual 2K made wrestlers. I’ve got my classic AJPW with the big hoss Gaijins. I don’t want to get another game and download them all again.

Last one I bought was 2k24, thought the singles matches were alright but the ladder matches are bollocks so fucked it off

I’ll no doubt be drawn into buying this one once it’s about 30 quid, decide Nash’s powerbomb still looks nothing like any he ever did and flog it to Cex for half what I paid for it

That's mental to me. I actually can sort of understand FIFA, the kits and the players change etc. I would only get it every 2 or 3 years but I get why people want it fully updated annually. But they wouldn't release it annually if people didn't I suppose.

The last new wrestling game I properly enjoyed was Fire Pro Wrestling World on PS4 but even that locked me out of half the content when the DLC came out and all the CAWS used the assets so unless you bought the DLC too it was a brick.

I got WWE 2K24 I think it was during the Cody Mania season and I played it for about a week and it just never got fun. The gameplay was a chore, every mode was a slog simulation. Just had no pick up and play quality to it at all.

Ive seen Tyson and Austin. I’ve seen the DX tank. I’ve seen the beer bath. I’ve seen Mankind thrown off the Hell in a Cell.

This game needs to put the spotlight on the rare gems of the Attitude Era, like this incredible clip of Hunter’s own best mate burying him six feet under, with Trips looking absolutely fucking gutted. Whilst in blackface. Amazing.
