They introduced NJPW, they introduced Stardom and then they released a couple of add ons to the rosters in the next couple of years as further DLC. They didn't do much more with it but could see further collaborations with other Japanese (or international for that matter) promotions expanding to it over time. The core game is great, you've got the traditional Fire Pro simming and logic, your promoter mode and so on it didn't really need an updated game - and until now they haven't released one. Obviously people still buy the annual update games like WWE 2K, Madden and so on, or they wouldn't keep doing them but I found their way of handling things so much better as a consumer. Of course, if every year we were getting updates to a dozen companies as DLC that goodwill may have been worn down by now. Quote

Everyone who lived through it going into finite detail about how Hunter was always one of the weakest parts of the Attitude Era, the least cool member of DX, who mostly rode a wave created by everyone else. A man who owes his entire career to Shawn’s bags, Chyna, Foley, Steph, and then Foley again. For a man so obviously online, I love how much it’ll break his heart. Have they ever done a Showcase mode based on Triple H’s career? Or is that not possible given current technology? Paid Members BomberPat Posted February 11 Paid Members Posted February 11 (edited) There's ways they can get around it without acknowledging any of the companies it actually happens in - the story modes have had generic "indie" promotions made up for years, all they need to do is put a bit in Punk's showcase mode about him scratching and clawing his way up the indies, even crossing paths with WWE legends there, and have that be how you get to the Eddie match. But more than that, it's that they made quite a point of "What If?" being a selling point for Punk's Showcase, and they managed to come up with three matches, one of which actually happened. Maddest thing is them not including the 2011 Money in the Bank match with Cena, but you assume it’s to avoid having to include Vince. At least we’ll get the 2008 Summerslam match with JBL. A match everyone talks about as pivotal to Punk’s career. Quote
