RIDDUM_N_STYLE Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 I eat roasts in this order - veg, accompaniment (yorkie if beef, crackling if pork, stuffing if chicken), meat, roasties. Never mix anything and apparently it was the way my late dad used to to eat his Quote

Weird and no fucking clue why. I literally do all of these things too! I used to have the collar of my T-shirt in my mouth all the time as a kid but grew out of it but have noticed I’ve started doing it again recently. I brought a selection of fidget toys from Amazon so I had something to do with my hands with whilst watching tv otherwise I’ll sit scrolling my phone and won’t pay attention. Quote

Was at a place in Brum the other day called Seafood City, which is great and I may post about it in the more dedicated thread. Had their City Feast Fry, which is ten king prawns, five squid rings, fried cod/white bait, red roast potatoes, and went with Cajun sauce as the side. Ate them pretty much in reverse order, starting with the big old potatoes because they were the ones I wanted to get out of the way first, even though they were in a way the most challenging/filling. RedTwoster Posted August 2, 2025 Posted August 2, 2025 Everything I do is normal, so I can’t really contribute here. I mean, we all make up songs about our pets and sing them to said pet when we’re alone in the house going about or day, much to their confusion, don’t we? Quote

Absolutely, even if it's just singing a song and replacing words with the pet's name. Hello Dolly becomes Hello Molly Vicky's mum used to have a dog called Saga (pronounced Sega) so I'd do my best impression of the screen at the start of the Sonic The Hedgehog games for her. If I've got a multipack of crisps I have a set order I'll eat the flavours in. Ready salted, cheese and onion then salt and vinegar if its your standard pack. If it was different flavours I'd have to figure it out on the fly Quote

I don't just sing to her, I talk to her ALL day. Watching a film, watching football, Nova gets a running commentary all the time, even when she's asleep. I bet she's glad when I leave the house. Hello Dolly becomes Hello Molly The last argument my wife and I had was about the name of our most recent pet, as I wanted it to have a name that fits into well-known songs more easily. In the end, my daughter cast the deciding vote and, being a toddler, chose wrong. She’ll regret it when she’s older and realises what she’s deprived herself (and her dad) of. Quote

I eat them top to bottom layer by layer (plain top bun, then plain beef, then the middle bun with the sauce, then the bottom bun and beef with sauce). Only burger I do this with from anywhere. Can’t remember why. Edited August 2, 2025 by FLips Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted August 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted August 2, 2025 For some unknown reason instead of saying the classic "wakey, wakey" to someone asleep, I'll say "wakey wakey lemon snakey" and I have no fucking idea why, what it even means, when I started or why I can't stop myself from saying it. I eat everything in order unless I need to taste everything first to decide the order, figuring out what to save until last like children. Invariably when eating a “saucy” meal involving pasta/rice, all that will be left at the end will be chunks of the meat/Quorn. Even if the order is not a “saving something til last” situation there’s an order e.g if I have a lot on my plate, the thing least palatable when cold has to be eaten first e.g fried potato product before meat. And a Mighty Bucket for one goes fries then 1x wing, 1x fillet, 1x original, repeat. Quote
Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted August 4, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted August 4, 2025 I've very much enjoyed reading this over the weekend. Doing comic-book sound effects out loud and eating Big Macs layer by layer is exacly the sort of thing I was hoping for, thanks. However, a little disappointed nobody responded to the thread title with 'your mum.' Quote
Briefcase Posted August 4, 2025 Posted August 4, 2025 Mine are probably food/drink related things. Similar to what's already been said I would also eat things in a certain order but always keep the best bit to last, so if having a cooked breakfast then probably the sausage, if having a roast probably the Yorkshire Pud. Pizzas I have a habit of picking off the toppings and eating them first, so would pick off the Pepperoni, eat them and then the pizza. And I don't know how or when this became a trend but in the last 10 years my bedtime drink is always a ice cold orange Capri Sun (the pouch), it's become so routine that I feel restless trying to sleep if I don't have it (e.g. afternoon nap). Yes this probably all makes me a child. Quote
