I'm expecting them to go over 18,000, their current highest attended show in the USA had just over 20,000 fans (first Grand Slam), they'll want to surpass that. I'm hoping for approx. 25,000 fans, not sure if that might be wishful thinking! I agree with both of you that it will look bad if they have too many empty seats on show but I think they can be clever with their camera work to hide some of it.

They can definitely be creative with how it looks but if only around 20k I think it sounds a bit meh. Also people take pics of empty stands and post it these days. I think that New Japan kind of gets away with that part and also because even if only getting 20k they are still the biggest Japanese promotion.

I would consider 25k quite good.

I’m hoping for an overbooked mess along the lines of Reigns/Cody in Moxley/Hangman. Eddie Kingston didn’t return at DoN. Maybe that’s because he’s going to return at All In, interfering to take out the Death Riders. You could also have Omega intervene, playing on the history between he and Page, and culminate with Swerve helping his long time enemy.

Top two babyfaces arguing to put the other one over. Bryan Danielson has a lot to answer for. This used to be a proper business, built on shitting in each other’s bags.

Yeah that sounds shit and people will rightfully tear into them. Sounds like 5 star wrestling doing their arena tour with a few hundred at each show. Surely just hire an indoor arena?

The last few SummerSlams have had huge sections of tarped areas, you don’t see it because they make that the hard cam section. I’m sure it will look fine.

The people that are weird about this will be weird either way, but 20-25,000 in a stadium definitely doesn't look as bad as 2 - 4,000 in a 20,000 seat arena, to me. It's much more akin to squaring off your production within a large space that can accommodate it than the cavernous obviousness of a half empty indoor arena. The diamond formation of it being a baseball ground is cool, too. Bring the stage forward and have your 20-25,000 on top of the ring. It'll look great, unless you're looking for it not to.

Yeah as long as they shoot it creatively and avoid a 'LOLWCW' moment, having wrestlers brawl in empty areas. It'll probably look fine.

Also with the card finally starting to take shape, they'll probably shift a couple of thousand more tickets.

On the woman's side of things, if it wasn't so close to the show, I'd say now might be the time to introduce woman's tag titles.

Originally I was ice cold on the idea. But with both singles champions tied up, I think tag titles would actually benefit the division now. But it's probably still a good while off happening.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure AEW wouldn't have booked a 30,000+ stadium and only opened it for 18,000 seats if they weren't confident they could make it look good for TV. If they are doing an Edge/Christian reunion I reckon that'd shift a decent amount of last minute tickets.

As for the WWE counter programming, it's predictable and pathetic behaviour but I'd expect nothing less from that shit house company. I don't think it'll really make any difference to AEW's business on the night. At the end of the day All In will likely be brilliant and the WWE shows will be the same old utter shite that their audience laps up. If you'd rather watch Logal Paul vs Seth Rollins vs CM Punk or whatever they put on then chances are there's nothing AEW can do to turn you on to their product.

If I had my way, I'd have Max Caster drive to the NXT show, in a golf cart. Waving his certificate around.

But I'm an idiot that should never be allowed to book a wrestling promotion.

Really laughed at WWE doing a pre-sale code for their events on this weekend as 'ALLWWE'.

Triple H or whoever I don't think has the petty enough nerve to open them up for parody but it's amazing they haven't revived the Billionaire Ted shit in my head sometimes.

They really are petty little arseholes, aren't they? No-one ever try and give us the "things have changed" bollocks.

My enjoyment of wrestling, and AEW especially, has vastly improved since leaving Twitter and seeing far less tribal bollocks as a result, but I still see the odd thing, and it's amazing how much I've seen people try and paint AEW as the company who are petty and obsessed with WWE rather than the other way around, because they "take potshots at them on TV all the time" - something AEW haven't really done in ages, and that pales in comparison to WWE's constant efforts to actively sabotage AEW.

If you're just a WWE fan, then the timing of these events is meaningless, but I can't imagine anyone who even pays the slightest bit of attention to both companies not seeing right through what WWE are doing and concluding that they're the same arseholes that they always were.

I think we're getting an "Avengers" spot where the Death Riders try to interfere, and get run off by a succession of people fucked over by them. If it weren't an outdoor show, I would say it culminates with Darby Allin coming down from the rafters, presuming he's back and cleared in time.
